How often does one get to say they found their true loves, more than once. Well, for me, that is the case. I have found true love four times and everyday I find myself falling more and more in love with the true loves of my life. Those true loves are known as my husband, my two sons, and my daughter. Growing up I always had dreams of falling in love, but the reality of what I have experienced has surpassed even the best dreams.
Everyday I wake up and I am so thankful, for God choosing to give me the amazing husband and children that I have. There isn’t a day that goes by, that my love for them doesn’t grow. I may think…okay this is as much love as I can hold and then a new day comes and I love them even more. My story starts with my oldest son, who I was a single mom too. I felt that unconditional love, the one where you put every single need of the other person first. I had “loved” before, but this was a new level. As his mom I wanted to give him the best, be the best for him, and help him become the best.
When he was two I started working outside the home, and that is where I met the man who would one day become my husband. We worked together for 9 months and then a group of us went out. Five months after that group gathering, my husband and I were being married. Sure, to some it was a whirlwind, but we knew it was right, so there were no worries. This man, who loved me unconditionally, took my son in as his own, adopting him after we married. He had already shown me unconditional love, because I was not so nice in the beginning of our marriage. When he took the step of adopting my son, the walls I had held onto from past hurts, came crumbling down.
We, subsequently, added two more children to our family and my heart grew by more leaps and bounds as they entered in our lives. First, our middle child, another boy, and then the girl. When I look at my husband and my children, I can’t believe just how lucky I am to have them. Every day is a new memory and each day I get to experience more love for them, than the day before. This year my husband and I will celebrate our 11th anniversary, I will have a 15, 11, and 9 year old. I have to say, no one every told me you could have four true loves in a lifetime, but I am sure glad I did.
As February enters, I always like to have fun giving gifts to the loves of my life. I like to do a few things extra in the “love” month, which is why I am always looking for the best Valentine’s Day Deals. I like to give them goodies, take them to their favorite movies, enjoy a night out to eat…just make a few out of the every day life, memories.
