Dabby Dill & the HICCUP Pickle is a story app perfect for pre-schoolers who don’t know how to read, those little ones who are learning to read, and those who are reading like a pro. Included in the app is a fun game that kids can play after learning of Dabby Dill’s adventure.
In the app you have story mode, read along, and self read! Story mode is for those little ones who love to have stories read to them but aren’t quite at the level where they know how to read. Read along, is great for beginning readers, because as the narrator reads the story it has a little orange line that goes along. So, they get to have a visual learning experience while reading along with the narrator. Self read is for those who are reading without help, no narration, perfect for letting your kiddo read to you at bedtime , let those tables turn!
Another thing I loved about the app is the highlighted words throughout the book. These words, when tapped, will have a definition pop up, it’s a great way to expand the vocabulary of any reader. I love how each page brings fun for the child reading. Let them interact and see how all the movements and sounds bring the story to life.
In the app, there is also a game. It’s very similar to Simon in nature…where you watch the pattern of hiccups and try to mimick it back. My kids have been cracking up at the hiccuping girls and animals. It’s a great memory gamer for any age (yes, I’ve even played it). There is so much in this app, that you really have to experience it for yourself. Songs to sing along with, a pickle recipe, and facts about certain objects you touch.
You can pick up Dabby Dill & the HICCUP Pickle in iTunes, but remember it’s for iPad ONLY. Now, before you go buying it, why not try to get one of the five codes I have available to give away.
