The Odd Life of Timothy Green hit shelves 12/4/2012!
We recently received the Blu-ray™ of The Odd Life of Timothy Green to check out, and I have to say this movie definitely made my favorites list. I tried to gather up my whole family to check out the movie, but the kids didn’t show any interest in watching with me. So, my husband and I sat down and watched together.
Roughly 10 minutes into the movie, my daughter (7) was walking through and caught a glimpse of the screen. She stood there for about 5 minutes before moving to the couch to watch the rest of the movie with us. I am telling you that piece of information because that speaks VOLUMES about this movie! Unless something really holds her attention, she is done in 5 minutes and moves on. For her to sit through the 90 minutes that she did, was a WIN!
I had really wanted to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green when it was in theaters but it just never worked out, so I was thrilled to have the chance to check it out at home. I had heard so many wonderful things about the movie and went in with high expectations…which can be dangerous! High expectations can often lead to let down, but this did not. This met and exceeded my expectations as I watched and fell in love the characters in the movie and the story.
From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape), and starring Golden Globe® winner Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, Oscar® winner Dianne Wiest and CJ Adams as Timothy Green, comes this highly imaginative story about a happily married couple who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. Then one stormy night young Timothy shows up on their doorstep. Soon they and the small town in which they live learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.
Having interviewed CJ Adams, getting to see the boy behind the voice, in the character of Timothy Green, was a bit of a bonus to a magical story that was wonderfully written and perfectly cast. Meeting my high Disney standards of a movie that has a Disney name attached, The Odd Life of Timothy Green did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried, I laughed, and I cried some more. I was so touched by the story itself and the way it was brought to life by the cast who played the movie characters it, honestly, left me wanting more. Lucky for me the Blu-ray™ has more!
