Just a few minutes ago I was on the phone with adorable actor, CJ Adams, who plays Timothy Green in the upcoming release The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Hitting theaters this August 15 be prepared to laugh, cry and watch as Timothy shows that sometimes the unexpected can be life’s greatest gifts. I had the chance to interview CJ, along with other bloggers and just had to share some of the things we learned about and from him.
How did you prepare yourself to play the role of Timothy Green?
CJ: I learned all the personalities Timothy had, by reading the script. Then I put them all together to become Timothy and that’s really how I prepared for the role.
What was the hardest part about doing the movie?
CJ: It was having to fit in school and do the movie at the same time.
Is there anything you learned from Jennifer and Joel when working with them?
CJ: They told me to really become the character, to let myself be the character I was playing and that’s what I learned from them.
When did you start getting into acting?
CJ: I never really wanted to act, it just came suddenly. I was like “Well why not try out (for Dan In Real Life) for fun” and ended up getting the part. After that I tried out for Timothy Green and got it so now I am trying to do more movies.
What do you love most about acting?
CJ: I love getting to play around and do funny voices if I have to. It’s just fun for me.
What is the best thing about Timothy and do you have that trait?
CJ: He is very truthful. The best thing about Timothy is he treats everyone the same no matter how they act and that’s what I do too. Having a good heart was the best thing about Timothy.
What was your favorite part about playing Timothy?
CJ: It was just being such a sweet boy. I liked playing someone who is different and unique. That was my favorite part of playing Timothy
Aside from Timothy Green, what is your favorite movie?
CJ: The Avengers.
In the movie you play a sport, if you had to pick a sport to play for the rest of your life what would it be?
CJ: Soccer, I love soccer.
It was so fun to chat with CJ Adams. He is the same age as my oldest and that made it super sweet. He is such a talented young man and I can’t wait to see him in the role of Timothy Green.
