Make Ahead Lunch Idea For Back To School
Summer has just a little less than a month for us, here in Florida and we’ve been having a blast. Which means in about two weeks, we will be in back to school shopping/planning mode. One of the things I am preparing for, when it comes to my younger children (my high schooler makes his own lunch so I am in the clear), is the lunches. Especially for my daughter, who is still on the early school schedule. She has to be at school by 7:15, which means early mornings for us both. It’s hassle enough trying to get her up, dressed, and breakfast made, let alone adding a lunch into the mix. This is why I prefer a make ahead lunch for school, that I can make the night before
She does eat at school some, but on the days they don’t have something she likes, she wants to take a lunch. To make it easier in the mornings, a make ahead school lunch is what will be a big part of our routine this year. You can do it with almost any lunch really, all you have to do is pre-pack the lunch the night before. Keep refrigerated items bagged and ready in the fridge, and the other items ready to go in the lunchbox. Today I am going to share with you one of our favorite make ahead lunch ideas.
For my daughter, something that is super easy and pretty darn tasty, is a lunch that has chicken tenders, a wrap, and bananas. I can prepare everything the night before and then add Nutella (or peanut butter) to the container in the morning. With her Capri Sun already near the lunchbox, this make ahead lunch, is ready is less than 2 minutes in the morning. Basically, the time it takes you to get the items out of the fridge, add the hazelnut and chocolate spread, put it in the lunchbox, and close.
In fact, you could prepare a few days of this lunch at a time, so your week is pretty planned out. I love sending Capri Sun with my kids to school, because it gives them something a little more flavorful than water and Capri Sun Juice Drinks have 35% less sugar than other leading juice drinks! Capri Sun had parents like me in mind, when they created their pouches. They are easy to throw into a lunch box and they have made them better for kids! Capri Sun listened to moms and started replacing high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) with sugar in the original line of Capri Sun Juice Drinks. **This product has 13g sugars; leading regular juice drinks 22g sugars per 6 fl oz serving.** So, the extra flavor makes for a happy lunch eater!
I am all about a less hectic routine when it comes to the school year. We have so much going on through the school year that I am all about less hectic, and this make ahead lunch idea is definitely an easy lunch to make the night before, so your mornings can go a little more smoothly!
What are some of your make ahead lunch ideas?
