Being a blogger, I love having an iPad 2. It’s great when I want to tweet, facebook or pretty much anything on the go. What about posting on my blog that will have many more characters than a status update? Therein was where my problem lay. I could do it, but unless it was a short and sweet post, it was a pain with the touch screen keyboard. That problem is no more thanks to the Zaggfolio.
The Zaggfolio is a case and keyboard. You can use it as just a case, just a keyboard, or as a case with a keyboard. The case is made of carbon fiber and a microfiber lining to keep your iPad 2 safe and sound. It can be used as a stand with or without the keyboard which comes in handy for movie watching or being productive (as in posting a blog post like this).
Isn’t it a professional looking accessory! The keyboard of the Zaggfolio is blue tooth connected. It’s so easy that if yours truly here can connect it, pretty much anyone can. No wires, plugs, etc. needed. You simply turn the keyboard from the off to the on position, head into your iPad 2 bluetooth area (in settings), enable bluetooth, start pairing mode, enter code and voila it’s connected.
Once connected your iPad 2 has turned into a netbook minus a trackpad. You can use it in landscape mode (seen below) both in and out of the case. You can also use it in portrait mode outside of the case on the keyboard alone.
The case and keyboard, for me personally, make the perfect iPad 2 accessory. I travel and when I travel I still have to post. I love my Macbook, but for short blog trips or mini vacations it would be wonderful not to have to lug it around. The Zaggfolio will help alleviate that dilemma. I now have a full functioning keyboard to make posting, tweeting, web searching and more from my iPad easier. Fewer mistakes too! Autocorrect gets me quite often with the virtual keyboard.
Another plus to the Zaggfolio are the shortcut keys specific to the iPad 2. They include volume control, music control (or movie if you are watching in iTunes), home, search, as well as copy and paste. You do several things with just the touch of a button. Also, there are no more store-bought batteries with the Zaggfolio. Included in the package were the case, keyboard, instructions and a usb cable. The usb cable is what you use to charge it with, so no buying batteries!
When you are using it as a case it is a bit bulkier than the other folio style cases out there. When you have the keyboard in the case it does make it heavier but not near as heavy as a laptop! You can get the ZAGGfolio for $99.99 or if you want just the keyboard you can buy the ZAGGkeys SOLO iPad keyboard alone for $69.99. Although if you are going to carry it on trips and travels I would suggest getting the ZAGGfolio so you can protect your iPad 2. WHAT I LOVED: Full keyboard, great iPad protection, makes it easier to do long tasks such as blogging, smaller and easier to transport than a laptop, comes in several different colors.
WHAT I WOULD CHANGE: I noticed when I was responding to someone on facebook and could usually hit enter to make the comment go it would go to a new line, I would have to use my virtual keyboard to post the comment. It is a bit bulky compared to other folio’s out there.
FINAL THOUGHTS: I personally love the ZAGGfolio and am so glad I had a chance to review it. I can’t compare it to other keyboard accessories out there because I haven’t tried them but I venture to say this is one of the best. A slick look so you can take it to meetings, a full keyboard to make taking notes, blogging, etc easier. Protection to keep your iPad safe and sound. ZAGGfolio by ZAGG definitely gets A Daily Dose stamp of approval!

What a cool keyboard option for the ipad! I might look into getting one for when I travel!
That’s the main reason I love it. It is so much less bulky than my MacBook and other than not being able to upload photos from a camera it pretty much lets me do everything else 🙂
