Fashion Talk: Be The Belle At The Mardi Gras Ball

We all know my love for fashion. I don’t actually wear that love often enough and it’s a shame. Working out of my home and being a stay at home parent doesn’t exactly call for formal dresses or many dresses for that matter. There are a few times a year I get excited for because should we find a babysitter, I have the chance to dress up. One of those times is in full swing now…..Mardi Gras season. You knew Mardi Gras was a season didn’t you?

At least here in the south it is. Schools get out for Mardi Gras, there are parades galore, moon pies (YUM), beads (but no boobies, we keep it family friendly here), and of course the Mardi Gras balls. I have yet to go to an actual Mardi Gras ball but am hoping this year (or next), now that we are back home, we will be able to get to one. It’s an excuse for me to get all gussied up and the hubby to sport one of those tuxes I think he looks mighty hot in. Although, I will say I am pretty sure I would be the one more excited about getting to dress up.

Most of the Mardi Gras balls are formal or black tie events which means you wear dresses. Some are not so formal but you still want to wear something a little better than your Sunday best. Fun or formal, Mardi Gras is a great time of the year to put on a new dress, add some accessories and head out to a night of no kids and awesome outfits. I found some dresses that should I make it to a Mardi Gras ball I would love to wear. Sure, sure they may be a little out of my price range (especially the almost $19,000 earrings you will see in a moment) but they are fun to imagine myself in.

Here are a few dresses and accessories I would love to wear to a ball, well a Mardi Gras ball. The colors of the season are yellow, green and purple and I just thought these dresses were fun and fashionable.
