Toni’s Tidbits: I Don’t Even Know What to Say

Picture 3

If any of you are on my facebook then I am sure you know what this post is all about however if you are not please watch the video (Tuesday’s Tidbits) and you will understand. Well even if you know what’s going on still watch it. I apologize for the crying…yes I cried, but I am a very emotional person. Please read the rest of the post after the video for more information as well.

The loss of a child is something no parent should ever have to experience and my heart simply breaks for Shellie. I don’t know what to do except pray, pray for her to have strength in this hard time but just feel like it’s not enough. I want to take it back, I want to reverse time for her and I can’t. I don’t understand why this happened and probably never will. I can only hope that the thoughts and prayers we are all praying for Her (@military_mom on twitter) will help in some way.

A song that came to mind as I heard of this was Nicole C. Mullen’s “Come Unto Me”. The lyrics just spoke volumes to me during hard times I have been through and while they are pale in comparison to what Shelie is going through, I hope that maybe just maybe they will speak to her in some way (or anyone for that matter).

Come Unto Me by Nicole C. Mullen:

Are you looking for someone to be gentle
With your broken heart your shattered dreams
And are you searching for someone who’ll be faithful
To you no matter what life brings
Well I know the maker of the storm the sunrise
He is both the lion and the lamb
He is strong enough to shake all earth and heaven
Yet meek enough to take me as I am.

He says come unto me
All who are weary
And I will give you rest
Bring what hurts
Bring your scars
Bring the load that you carry
And I will give you rest

Are the clouds above your head oh so heavy
Bursting with showers of despair
And do you struggle under more then you can carry
Has life given more then you can bear
And would you like to trade your failures in for victories
Like piles of ashes in for piles of gold
And can you fall down like a child who is helpless
So he can pick you up and make you whole

He says come unto me
All who are weary
And I will give you rest
Bring what hurts
Bring your scars
Bring the load that you carry
And I will give you

la la la la la la
la la la la la la
la la la la la la la la la la
la la la la la la
la la la la la la

Come—
All who are weary
And I will give you rest
Bring what hurts
Bring your scars
Bring the load that you carry
And I will give you

Come—
All who are weary
Come—
All who are weary
(Riff several lines)
He says come!

If I find out how you can send cards/donations I will update this post to include the link and/or information, but for now just lift Shellie up in prayer, sometimes that is what is needed most.

Very sad. She is in my thoughts and prayers. As for cards and donations, I think I read on someone else’s blog that Trisha at MomDot is handling that. You might be able to tweet some MomDot members and see if they have the info.

I am fairly new to all of the blogs but I feel the same Toni. I just can’t imagine and have been praying since I first saw the post on twitter.- I know no words can make anything feel less than what she feels right now. I hope she feels the outward pouring of blessings for her and her family.
Thx for giving this some attention.

That was really sweet Toni. I cry about everything!

I didn’t see what happened on Twitter, but whatever happened doesn’t sound nice at all. As mothers we should all know her pain.

    Hugs for her!!!

Thanks for sharing with us. I can’t even imagine what Shellie and her family are going through right now. I think it’s great that people from all over the world can support one another through social networking sites. It’s sad that some people posted hurtful comments on twitter.

I had heard about Shellie and this tragic accident on another site…it does just break your heart and want you to gather your children so you can have them in your sight and under your “wings” every moment.
THANK you for posting the song lyrics. this really spoke to me, and i will be looking on You tube to find this song.
“bring your scars, bring the load that you carry”…I have been under the burden of such for years and especially the past year. My faith is shaken and ANY little help, be it through words or prayers or even a song has the ability to bring me “back”. thank you.
