A while back I had the opportunity to visit General Mills and while there got to cook in the Betty Crocker kitchens. Â It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience (though I hope it will happen more than once, who knows it just might). Â We made a meal of yummy chicken tenders using Progresso Panko Bread Crumbs. Â THEY WERE DIVINE!!
Having had original and italian style Panko bread crumbs in the past Progresso has not upped the game with lemon pepper panko bread crumbs.  Can you say YUM!!  I am a huge lemon pepper fan, just ask my husband.  If I get a rotisserie chicken I pick up the lemon pepper flavor.  I love the lemon pepper dry seasoning, marinade, if it’s lemon pepper I can assure you I will like it.
When My Blog Spark had the Lemon Pepper Panko spark come up you know I jumped on that faster than fast can be. Â Did I mention I love lemon pepper? Â Well I also love crispy tenders and usually the way I made those wasn’t so healthy. Â Dredging them in egg, flour and frying in a pit of oil…not the healthiest but it tasted so good. Â With the Lemon Pepper (or other flavors) of Panko you can skip the oil and bake it right in the oven. Â A plus for when the kids want the nuggets and when I want my tenders but not the side of grease.
Now another thing I love about Progresso’s Panko is it is great when you are wanting that tempura style vegetable without paying the price of hitting up your local hibachi grill.  And did you know it’s great for desserts!  Instead of flour it can be used to make a yummy crispy topping for your cobblers (though I wouldn’t suggest the lemon pepper flavor for that).  Head over and check out some more tips from Michael Chiarello on ways to use your panko bread crumbs.
And now through December 31 you can head over to Progresso Broth to enter for a chance to win a trip to Napa Valley and check out some more great recipes.
