Nestle’s Spooktacular Baking Contest {Target Gift Card & Toll House Giveaway}

It’s time to have a little spooky fun! My family loves Halloween time, it’s a time for dressing up, having fun, heading ot our church for a Harvest Festival and of course goodies and candy. What’s there not to love about this time of year right! I’ve partnered with Nestle Family this week to get into the Halloween and baking mood. October 18-22 I will be sharing daily posts and fun ideas to make Halloween a little more fun. Along with the daily ideas I will host a giveaway to help you out with your Halloween fun this year with a grand prize finale on Friday! Can you say Woo Hoo!

Today it’s all about baking. I have said several times my family is a big Nestle family. As the holidays approach I find more Nestle products than usual in my house. For some reason holidays make me want to bake. Now while I am not the most creative in the baking department I can throw a few little things together.

One of the things we like to do is make Monster Cookies (that we got off Nestle’s Very Best Baking site)

Picture from VeryBestBaking.com

It’s such a fun project for us to do as a family and easy as can be of course.  You know me I love easy.    Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16.5 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar Dough
  • 1 container (16 oz.) prepared white and/or chocolate frosting
  • Gel or paste food colorings of choice to color white frosting
  • Assorted candies, NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels for eyes
  • Blanched slivered almonds for teeth
  • Assorted sprinkles, licorice strings

PREPARE cookies as directed on package. Cool completely.

COLOR white frosting as desired (one color can be used or divide frosting and have several colors. One container of frosting will be enough to make all 12).

SPOON 1 heaping tablespoon of frosting in center of 12 cookies. Top each with remaining 12 cookies. To make monster hair on top of cookie, fill pastry bag or small plastic food storage bag fitted with star tip with frosting. Squeeze bag lightly to pipe hair. Position eyes onto front of hair. Use frosting to adhere mini morsels to eyes for pupils. Insert almonds in filling for teeth. Decorate monsters as desired with additional sprinkles or licorice for an extra scary monster!

Now go on and cook you some.  Or better yet enter Nestle’s Spooktacular Baking Contest and share you own spooky creation.

What exactly do you need to do?  No worries, yours truly was just headed that direction, no tricks here! Create a Halloween-themed Baking Activity using NESTLÉ TOLLHOUSE Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Submit the name of your project, step-by-step instructions and a picture of your fun creation. Ten lucky finalists will be chosen by NESTLÉ. Votes from our NESTLÉ baking community will determine the winners.  So get to sharing!

HEY HEY before you go don’t forget it’s a:

    I love your recipe. One treat I like to make at Halloween, though it’s not scary, is a big pumpkin cake. I bake a cake in a bundt pan. Turn the cake on a plate and frost it in orange frosting. Then I take an ice cream cone, the wafer type and frost that in green as a stem. My family loves this each year.
