Fun Ideas For A Ghoulish Celebration: A Juicy Juice Prize Pack & Target Gift Card Giveaway

Today in the Nestle Family’s Week Long Halloween Party we are talking Ghoulish Celebrations.  I know a lot of people, adults and kids alike, love to throw parties at Halloween time.  It’s fun to dress up and get together with friends.  When you are planning these celebrations, especially the ones that are kid geared, it’s fun to have crafts, goodie bags and games.  It makes the party a little more fun and a little more memorable.

Here are a few of the party ideas I am looking forward to trying this year (all for the lovely and talented Martha Stewart of course, click the links to take you to the how to).

Another thing that will be present this halloween season is the Bone Chillin’ Brew from Nestle Family.

Here’s how to make it:

  • Gather items needed  and ingredients for the punch. ( 3 cups of water, 3 plastic gloves, 3 rubber bands or twist ties, 2 bottles (64 fl. oz. each) of Punch Flavor NESTLÉ® JUICY JUICE® All Natural 100% Juice chilled, 1 can (12 fl. oz.) of frozen lemonade concentrate, slightly thawed, & 4 cans (12 fl. oz. each) of lemon-lime soda, chilled)
  • To make the hands pour water into gloves, adding enough water to fill the gloves loosely but not so full that the fingers will not move. Fasten gloves with rubber bands or twist ties. Line baking sheet with paper towels. Place filled gloves on paper towels. Freeze for 3 hours or until firm.
  • To make the punch combine Juicy Juice and lemonade concentrate in large punch bowl. Gradually stir in soda. Carefully cut gloves off hands with scissors. Float hands in punch.

Super simple and very “ghoulish”!  A perfect addition to your halloween fun!

When my kids were younger we did lots of fun craft activities. One in particular they liked was making a pumpkin from a paper plate. I gave them a bunch of torn pieces of orange paper that they put all over the plate. Then they cut out eyes, nose and mouth for a face. Then we would cut out a piece of brown paper for a stem. The paper plate gives them boundaries to make a good size/shape pumpkin. You could even add some green curling ribbon to the stem.

Using one garbage bag, stuff with newspaper to make large, round shape. Close bottom using packing tape.
    lawn spider
Take 4 garbage bags and cut in half down the middle of the long side. Tape sides cut closed. You will then have 8 strips with an open end. Stuff the open ends with newspaper half way. Twist the bag (for knee joint) then continue stuffing until full. Tape off end.
On round garbage bag, tape eyes cut from from white construction paper – or other white materials. Eyes can be decorated with permanent marker to make eyeballs or eyelashes.
Take your spider parts outside and assemble. You should have the body and 8 legs. Prop the legs up against the body, or tape to the body.

One of the best Halloween parties I have been involved with is with our local Community Center. Everything was free to the children in the area; popcorn machine, apple bobbing, haunted house (not scarey)other games and lots of fruit and candy for the children. Prizes were given to all the children that came (over 75 children). It was fun for the children (up to age 14) and rewarding for all our volunteers and donors of gifts for the children.

idea- have your own spook house set up(maybe in the garage or basement) with attractions such as A pumpkin patch with all the names of the guests at the part written onto cut out paper mache pumpkins, hanging dangling ghosts from the rafters, a dracula asleep on his slab, the invisible man, Large spider with it’s family displayed against the wall, the headless horseman and others.

I remember going to a party where they had it in their basement and they had smoke of some sort blown into the room. The smoke made like a haze and really added to the scary mood.

The best thing I’ve seen is a cake I make for our Halloween party:
Bake a rectangle white cake. Round off the end of one side of the cake for the ghost’s head. On the other end, cut half circles for the hem of the sheet the ghost wears. For the eyes, use half of an empty egg shell for each eye. Place a sugar cube in each eye and add 2 drops each of vanilla extract. Light each cube with a match and the eyes glow! 😉

Not to be a braggart, but my hubby does the BEST decorations! Last year he went with the theme of “Psycho.” His decor is always themed. We had a full shower he made out of scrap wood and bloody hand prints on the curtain, running water out of a showerhead, and overflowing “bloody” sink with mop and bucket, and the scene of Norman sinking the victim’s car playing on a loop in our sliding glass door (as big as too) via our projector…was awesome and all outside!

I went to a party once that had the graveyard set up in the front and they had it all dark except a colored light on a life-sized witch. If you dared to get to close, the witch would jump at you. It scared everyone. It was a huge hit.

I think the best Halloween ideas are the traditional ones, like bobbing for apples.

  459. 460

The best party ideas I’ve seen are costume parades and lots of tasty holiday treats like decorated sugar cookies

I love making our own candy apples, the kids can decorate them anyway they want! Thanks for the chance!

I just saw some really cool cupcakes that looked like the little green alien guys from Toy Story. Tint frosting neon green and use 3 mentos candies for the eyes and 2 pretzels for the antennas. They were really cute.

We have a neighbor that made an ELABORATE haunted house at her own house and garage after her kids became teens. They’d decorate and the teens and their friends would scare kids as they came through. There was always a line to go through. THanks.

The best Halloween party I ever attended was also a potluck. All the guests brought their own favorite dishes, and we shared our food with each other. It was a great way to try different recipes and save on costs.

Thanks for the giveaway…every year for our kids Halloween party we drop a chunk of dry ice into a large bowl of punch to give it a scary, bubbling, foggy “Witches Brew” look…and of course, this is done under direct adult supervision.

Last year I made stromboli that looked like snakes. I painted on stripes with food coloring, used a roated red pepper strip for a tongue, pepper corns for nostrils, and olives for eyes.
