This giveaway is now closed winner will be announced soon Edited on 11/26 at 9:07 pm central time
I was contacted by Lisa from Elfing Around and asked if I would like to review and giveaway their product. Â As I went to the site before responding to see if this was an opportunity I would be interested in, I knew right off this was going to be something perfect and fun for my family. Â Elfing Around is simply to make the countdown to Christmas a little more fun and interesting for the kids. Â I can speak for mine as the days draw closer to Christmas my kids get anxious and this is going to be the answer to that “passing the time” quest.
When I opened the box I immediately saw the adorable little elves, one for each of my children. Â I was introduced to Sparkle (Bella’s Elf), Dodger (Gabriel’s Elf), and Jingle (Aidan’s Elf). Â I noticed right away these were very well made, sturdy and a good size. Â Not too big but not a small little toy either. Â Along with them came a letter specially written to each child from Herbie (the head elf).
The letter specifies what the elf is there for and how they have to be still like a doll during the day but at night using their elf magic they will do things around the house (more on that to come). Â Letting the children know what their elves “specialty” is at the North Pole and sharing that their elf has been asking all year to vacation with the child(ren). Â Below is a picture of the envelopes the letters arrive in:

After the kids open the letters and “get to know” their elves they can play with them during the day’s when they are “frozen” and then at night is when the real fun begins and your children can wake up to find out what adventure their elves have been on while they were sleeping. Â Along with the letter from Herbie each elf comes with several other items to make this a tradition your kids will look forward to every year.
The I’m Here, I’m Here packet is an arrival note from the elf, you will want to place it along with the tattoo included in a place your child will see it when they wake. Â Telling the child to pick one spot that the elf will sleep in every night, so that they child always knows where to look for their elf when they wake and when he/she is not there to go looking for the elf. Â There is also a tattoo of the elf that your child can apply, a wishlist for your child to write their Christmas wishes on, an envelope addressed to Santa to put the wish list in and a See You Next year letter. Â It truly is going to be magical, I myself can’t wait to see the looks on my children’s faces when they see what the elves have been up to while they sleep.
The thing that is going to make all the mischief/magic happen is the Elfing Around Parent Adventure Guide. Â This guide has 12 nightly suggested Elf Adventures as well as 4 blank postcards that you can use to create your own adventure and replace one of the 12 suggested with it. Â Here are a few sneek peaks at some of the adventures:
- A Scavenger hunt with clues leading to whatever you want, it can be a treat, an early present, anything.
- The Elf Decorates your tree with pieces of your kids clothing (that crazy little elf)
- Elves Love Movies: Put a Christmas DVD in and forward to the middle of the movie. Â Prop elves up with a bowl of popcorn and the remote
The adventures the elf goes on is sure to bring a smile to your child’s face and have them waiting to see what the next adventure the elf goes on during the countdown to Christmas. Â Elfing Around is sure to make this Christmas countdown more exciting and fun for your little ones and even you, I know I am excited to do it this year. Â There is also a year 2 and 3 available for the coming years.
I will try to update you on the adventures as they happen once the countdown has started. Â This year instead of the same old “How much longer til Christmas” whining my kids usually have, we will be busy seeing what their elves have been up to and I for one can’t wait to see their reactions.

I remember one Christmas that “Santa” came to our home on Christmas Eve and gave my brother & I special gifts. It was so special to have him come to our house. (Later found out that it was one of my Dad’s fireman friends).

I’ll always remember my son’s first Christmas. He was only 24 days old and so tiny and I had a few Christmas outfits for him that he looked adorable wearing. This is also the last Christmas that my grandma was at home before going to the nursing home and him and I got to spend some time there with her and I have a great picture of the two of them.

Best memory–two years ago my son was born on Dec. 19th and we had carolers come through the hospital to sing to us. Soooo neat. I have pictures of him in his little crib with a whole “dressed up” high school choir around him. Precious. 🙂
main entry: My husband & I were both from the same small town in Tennessee but when we married we were in the navy until we retired so during the years while our only daughter was small we looked forward to coming to tenessee for our christmas with our familys. And one particular christmas I remember Tenn got a really big snow 2 days before christmas and we were not sure we pought to make the drive from Florida but we did and it was just the best christmas with all our family. We rode snow sleighs and thru snow balls and made snow cream and had wonderful meals with each family side and my mom & dad had a big tall log house so they went out and cut the tallest tree I ever saw my dad had to get on an extention ladder to even reach near the top but we had such fun decorating it and spending quaility time all together.

I loved when my mother would start working on the piles of Christmas cookies she made and getting to eat them.
Every year we go on the website that allows us to follow Santa around the world. They get so excited when Santa is on the East Coast because they know that he will be in California soon.
One of my favorite memories is the 1st time I took my daughter to the Nutcracker. Thanks for the chance.

One of my favorite memories is when my oldest was 18months and got three stuffed toys – Big Bird, Elmo, and Ernie – and kept saying their names over and over with such amazement! Wouldn’t open any other gifts because that one was just so great. Love that sweet time when it’s all new!

One of our traditions is Christmas Eve mass. When we get home we have a buffet of appetizers and munchies for dinner (we are too excited for a full meal) and then we open just one gift! It was what I did growing up and now I share this tradition with my kids!

The best memory I have is when my son was 8 and my daughter was 10. Every Christmas Eve I had told them the story of Animals talking and toys coming alive. Christmas morning I was awaken by screaming kids. As I ran into the dining room, the kids were jumping up and down, screaming and giggling. It appears as if all the Star War toys had been in a great battle on Christmas Eve. (The kids even forgot to check their toys from Santa for quite a few minutes.)

We like to take an evening and drive around town and see all the Xmas lights and decorations.
One of our favorite traditions is leaving rice krispie treats out for Santa on Christmas Eve. And of course carrots and a bowl of water out for the reindeer. I still have to chuckle when my kids’ eyes get big when they see “chewed up carrot remants” and just a little water at the bottom of the bowl on Christmas morning! Those reindeer are sooo messy!

One of my favorite Christmas memories was last year when we went out of town the Belton Nature in Lights (http://www.hoodmwr.com/nature_in_lights.htm). It was so cloudy when we first started out driving there and drizzly. As soon as we got there, the clouds parted and the sun came out. During the drive through the lights, a song came on. My twin sister and I, whom are sitting in back, started singing and moving side to side to the song! It was so fun!

Every Christmas Eve we make ornaments out of bread and birdseed and put them on the bush outside for the birds for Christmas. On Christmas morning we wake up to the sound of happy, singing birds!
We load the kids in the car and go through a drive thru and get french fries and drinks. Then we drive around and look at Christmas lights with the Christmas music blaring.
