YS3?  I am sure if you are a reader from some places you are wondering what in the world is that.  YS3 = Yancy Spencer III!  Dubbed as the father of gulf coast surfing, Yancy Spencer III touched so many lives both in and out of the water.  The gulf coast and surfing community felt the waves of shock last year when he passed suddenly on this very day, while doing what he loved.

His passing rocked the community and brought people from all over together for a memorial Paddle Out last year.  In continuing to highlight the life of someone who touched so many because of the life he lived there will be the 1st annual SUP/Surf fest to honor the life of Yancy Spencer III.  His life was truly a legacy and a testimony, one that reached far beyond the white sandy shores of the Pensacola Beach coastline.  If you are in the area, or even if you are not and want to attend here is the information on the 1st Annual Yancy Spencer III SUP/Surf Fest.

When: Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11 a.m.

I was in Huntington Beach the week he died and they had a big memorial set up for him. It was so unfortunate.
