The time for moon pies has arrived. The Mardi Gras 2012 season is in full swing. For this post in the Coastal Life series I thought I would share with you some of the events we have left for Mardi Gras this season. I am going to share with you the surrounding area (Pensacola Beach, Navarre) so if you are in the area check out some of the going ons.
- 2/8 at 1 p.m. – Navarre Krewe of Jesters Parade..
Pensacola Beach:
- 2/11 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Kids & Kritters Parade
- 2/11 at 7-11:30 p.m. – Krewe of Wrecks Grand Costume Ball at the Beach’s Elk Lodge. Tickets required.
- 2/11 at 8-11:30 p.m. Krewe of Bananimals Ball. Hosted at Castaway’s. Tickets are $40 at the door. Open to public.
- 2/13 at 7-11 p.m. – Krewe of Wrecks Queen dinner at Flounder’s. Tickets required
- 2/13 at 7-11 p.m. – Krewe of Wrecks Kings Dinner at Elk’s Lodge. Tickets required.
- 2/18 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Krewe of Wrecks Champagne breakfast at Crab’s. Tickets required.
- 2/19 at 2-6 p.m. – Krewe of Wrecks parade on Via de Luna.
- 2/20 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Krewe of Wrecks Red Beans and Rice lunch in Casino Beach parking lot. Open to public. Food is free.

Pensacola:
- 2/10 at 6 p.m. – Avante Garde Mardi Gras Ball at Pensacola Yacht Club for members and their guests. (there is a fee for guests)
- 2/10 at 7 p.m. – Krewe of Warriors Big Top Ball at the Hadji Shrine. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. There will be a cash bar and you must be 21 to attend. This event is open to the public and attire is formal, casual, or costume. The event will end at midnight.
- 2/11 at 11:45 a.m. – The special olympics florida escambia/santa rosa counties mardi gras fun run & walk ?with plenty of food, beer and freebie stops along the way! Sign up at firstgiving.com/sofl/mardigras
- 2/17 at 8 p.m. – The Krewe of Lafitte Illuminated Parade. Pensacola’s only night time parade during the Mardi Gras season parading down the historic streets of Downtown Pensacola! Immediately following the parade, will be the Krewe of Lafitte Ball (krewe memebers only)
- 2/18 at 11 a.m. – The Krewe of Avant Garde Parade Party at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, which is located 140 W Government St. Pensacola, Florida. This event will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Members and guests should bring a dish to share and the beverage of their choice.
- 2/18 at 2 p.m. – BLAB TV will have live parade coverage.
- 2/25 at 6 p.m. – Women’s Cinderella Ball! February 25th from 6:00 pm. til 11:30 p.m. Hosted by the Krewe of Glass Slippers. Admission is Free and this event is open to the public. You must be 18 to enter and please have on your Formal Attire. Live Music, Karaoke, and hors d’oeuvres. Guest are welcomed to bring a gift valued under $15.00 for the Mean Step Mother Gift Exchange. Pensacola Improv Center located at 375 N. Pace Blvd
