Seriously, how can you not love those sweet little faces. My fur babies, Dexter (the blonde) & Guido, are a big part of my family’s life. They cuddle with us in bed, they play with my human babies and they protect us. Watch out delivery men/women, they may be little but they will come after you with fierceness! They are just as much a part of the family as any of us and at Christmas we like to give them some gifts too, no leaving out the fur babies.
Just because they can’t speak in our language doesn’t mean they don’t love a good present just as much as the rest of us. Especially when those presents consist of good things to snack on, comfy places to sleep and toys to tear up. I swear they are just like my kiddos in so many ways. Come Christmas Day they have a few little gifts waiting for them under the tree too!
I headed to my local Walmart to pick up some Milk-Bone® treats, Pup-Peroni snacks, and Milo’s Kitchen Snacks to get started on their gift. Trust me if you knew my dogs those three things right there would be enough for them on Christmas. Of course I’m the mom who likes to spoil so I couldn’t stop with that.
My dogs deserve comfy beds to you know, so they will get them this Christmas. I love all the selection of toys and Christmas goodies Walmart has for pets. Doggie stockings, doggie christmas colored treats, Christmas outfits (that took a lot of self control not to get). My kids were finding this and that to give to the dogs at Christmas, at the rate they were going the dogs were going to have more than them. I reigned them in and let each kiddo pick one gift to give the doggies.
The came up with a squeaky toy (missing the squeaker WOOT), a soccer ball that has a rope on each end (my dogs love tug of war so they’ll get a lot of use out of that one), and two tennis balls (fetch will be the game this Christmas). The selection of toys, snacks and doggie needs was wonderful. It took almost as long to get out of that section as it takes us to get out of the regular toy section.
We are all excited to give Dexter & Guido their presents this Christmas. Although, I feel this need to get more so I have a feeling I will be headed to the local dollar store this week. We have never really gotten our dogs holiday presents because we buy them things constantly throughout the whole year!
Your fur babies are adorable!
We just started yesterday by buying our boy Darby a new bed from Lowe’s. They have nice sized beds for $10! We got our other boy (Rudy) one very similar for the same price at Tractor Supply and he LOVES it!. We recently rescued Darby and he’s bedless…so Santa will make his doggie dreams come true. Ha! Santa will bring them some more goodies….and my two daughters will also shop for them (and our cats and rabbit as well!). We definitely treat our furballs like family!
PS- the girls are concerned that Santa won’t bring the pets anything because they have their “naughty” moments… Ha!
