Toni’s Tidbits on Fashion!

As we all know there are fashions out there that are wonderful and fashions that make you question someones sanity are not so wonderful! Since I, your funkalicious queen, am the epitome of all things cool in the fashion world (well in my opinion anyways) I thought why not bring to the blog a “What not to Wear” post.

Today’s fashion disaster…..I once wore *hanging my head in shame*. In fact it was uber cool in a few era’s (namely the 50’s and 80’s). Now I guess it could be cool again today if done in a right manner, but oh the manner was so-not-right in the picture I am getting ready to post. Now for the privacy of this beautiful person, whom usually is a well dressed fashion icon, I have covered her face. She (who is married to a man who likes to jump on couches on the Oprah show) is flawless in beauty, but how my heart sank when I saw the flawed fashion…..

TIGHT ROLLED JEANS!!!!!!????? WTF!!!

Okay, so this is probably the worst fashion to ever try to bring back. I mean really, does every person in the United States, if not the world, cringe when they see pictures of themselves in tight rolled jeans! To try to bring them back now when there are so many beautiful fashions waiting to be worn is a travesty! The worst part is she didn’t even use the right kind of jeans.

Baggy jeans + tight roll = huge fashion disaster! What I wonder is did she pick this out herself or did her fashion consultant pick this out. If the latter, then someone seriously needs to be fired!

Let me give you a few tips to hopefully save you from the embarrassment of a fashion disaster:

~DO NOT WEAR TIGHT ROLLED JEANS!!!!!!!!!!!! They were not cool in the 80’s (even though at the time we all thought they were). The only era they could have passed for cool in, maybe, is the 50’s but then again everything about the 50’s was cool!

~If you feel you want to try tight rolled jeans, quickly assess why you are having this fashion disaster desire. Maybe you just want to relive a moment in the 80’s that you have fond memories of! If that is the case let me be the first to tell you, you can relive the moments without embarrassing yourself. Throw on some Pat Benatar or John Cougar and hold your lighter in the air and pretend you are at a concert, that should get you through the moment of needed to be nostalgic.

~Lastly, before you think you must run out in tight rolled jeans, ask yourself, do I really want to scar my kids and embarrass them like my parents did to me?…..Well, in this case, this may be the time I make an exception. Go ahead and go out and embarrass your kids because once you get out you will turn heads and get laughed at! If you do this you are sure to cure yourself of the need to wear tight rolled jeans because you will not want to go through the humiliation you will experience ever again.

Fashion tip of the day: Tight rolled is not cool but if you feel the need to have your jeans tight around your ankle go the more decent route…skinny jeans- at least they look better!
