Take A Day To Relax At The Aveda Fusion Spa and Salon

As I geared up to head to LA, I admit to getting a bit frantic.  Thanks to Fusion Spa and Salon on Pensacola Beach I was able to take a day and just relax in preparation for my trip.  Walking a red carpet is nerve wracking enough without all the knots and skin problems I tend to get when stressing (yes I totally stress over awesome things).  Thankfully the awesome staff at Fusion Day Spa were there to help me de-stress, and get me looking and feeling my best.

I started my day off with a relaxing Elemental Nature Massage.  As you can see there are bowls on the massage tables. The reason for that is before you begin your massage you are treated to a foot bath, this was the first time I had ever been offered this before a massage and it was wonderful.  After the foot bath, I de-robed and slipped under the covers and a few minutes later the masseuse returned to the room.   The 60 minute massage relaxed me from head to toe.

While I wasn’t in the rooms pictured above, they are the couples room and the body scrub room, my massage room looked identical to the couples room except with just one bed.  The body scrub room has a bath, for obvious reason, and if you get a body treatment you also get a massage (I am totally going to do that).  My masseuse was wonderful, working out all the kinks and knots in my neck, which is my where I tend to bottle stress and completely relaxing the rest of me.  I was so relaxed I fell asleep, that is a good sign when it comes to massages.

After my massage I was treated to Results Focus facial.  It’s been a long time since I have had a facial and it was pure heaven.  Using Stress Relieving Rituals with customized aroma and facial massage techniques particular to my needs (or yours when you go), my face was radiant when I left.  I definitely want to make this something regular for myself.  During the facial you are treated to a neck and shoulder massage which was like the finishing touch on a perfectly wrapped present!

Last, I headed to the hands and feet area.  My hands and feet were treated to luxury too.  I fully admit to neglecting my hands and feet at home, so the treatment they received during my day at the spa was like a luxury vacation.  The soaking, the heated masque, the  massage all the way to the finishing touch of color was nothing less than wonderful.   If you go to get your nails or toes done be sure to choose the spa version of the maincure and pedicure with the heating masque, my hands and feet were thanking me!  I walked out with soft hands and feet and that’s a rarity with me.

My day at the Aveda Fusion Spa and Salon left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and I hope to have more of those days in my future.  The atmosphere of the spa as a whole makes your body go into relax mode from the moment you step in and, for me, hours after you leave.  I felt like I didn’t have a care in the world that day and I fully intend on making another day like that happen soon, and not just to get me red carpet ready, but I sure am thankful they played a part in that.
