Oops, you caught me!! I was digging into my Giant Fortune Cookie. Most of you know me and know that I love food, especially anything that is sweet or chocolate. So when I was contacted and asked to review Fancy Fortune Cookies and a Giant Fortune Cookie, I of course said Heck yeah. As I dug into the packaging…
a thought occurred to me..this would be the perfect addition to my Mothers Day Gift Idea’s posts. So thus it became a review that made it’s way into what I think would be a perfect Mothers Day Gift. If you can’t tell from the above picture of me chowing down on the cookie, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Fancy Fortune Cookies and Giant Fortune Cookies are the perfect treat for any occasion to add a little non traditional party favor or non traditional gift that is sure to bring a smile to the face of whomever is receiving it.
I received the vanilla fancy fortune cookies dipped in dark, milk and white chocolate to review along with a giant fortune cookie dipped in chocolate and decorated perfectly. While I am focusing on the giant fortune cookie let me give credit where credit is due and tell you the chocolate dipped vanilla regular sized fortune cookies were absolutely mouth watering and will make a perfect party favor for the next shin dig you host.
Now about the giant fortune cookie, when I say it is giant I am not exaggerating! To give you an idea of what giant means in fortune cookie terms I took a picture of one of the white chocolate dipped regular sized cookies next to the giant chocolate dipped cookie:
My mouth literally fell open when I saw the size of this cookie. Sweet!!! What a fun, fun, fun idea! I went over to take a look and I think I would do the “new baby” one and actually send it to my sister-in-law who JUST had twins! Those sweet little babies are just 3 weeks old and are keeping mommy up ALL through the night. Oh the days…I remember doing it just one at a time. I can’t even imagine doing it with 2! My heart just goes out to her and yet through it all, I know she realizes just how “fortunate” she is to have them. This would be a fun token to send to her.

You know what I absolutely love about this company? In NW Ohio & NE Indiana, there was this local kids show called Happy's Place that was on when I was a kid. Mike Fry, the owner of Fancy Cortune Cookies (Erin is his wife) is the much-loved original Happy The Hobo from that show! I'm too young to remember him as Happy, but I do remember I loved the show.

I would use it for my sister's birthday–we have a long history with fortune cookies–when we were little we went to San Francisco–and each of us kids got to plan out a day–I went to the library and got the yellow pages for San Francisco and found 2 fortune cookie factories–and planned our routes–It was a huge adventure through back alleys –and lots of people that didn't speak english–and I ended up with a bag of cookies as tall as I was for $5–and they threw in another bag of imperfects for free–no one had ever come & tried to buy direct from them before (this was 1974) –they were thrilled-and I was in heaven!!!
