This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support and incentives for participating in the ShakleeCorporation blogger program. My opinions are my own. People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
With summertime here I am doing my best to go from flab to fab. I am on that road thanks to Shaklee 180™ and getting more active this summer. Check out some of the summer activities my family and I are doing to get in better shape (and have fun while doing it)
If you can’t have fun while staying active in the summer, what can you do. Swimming at the beach, going to the waterpark that has a bazillion stairs, or climbing up the inflatable slide with 40 steps over and over again, make staying active fun.
During the summer, it’s important for me to keep not only myself, but my kids active too. If it were up to them they would be on video games or devices all day long. I want them to have an active lifestyle later in life and to do that habits usually need to start younger. Trust me, it’s hard enough to want to be active when you are older and were active (I was in dance for 15 years) your younger life.
A few more summer activities that can be fun for the family:
- Go on a nature hike, get walking and find all that nature has to offer.
- Kayak or paddle board. Both of these work your body even more than you realize because you are having fun while doing it.
- Roller skating. Whether outside or a local indoor rink this is a great workout and fun for the kids
- Ride a bike. We all used to do it as kids, why not get a bike as an adult and have a family cycle night.
There are so many different ways to stay active during the summer. Find something that works for you and your family, and start that family activity night..a great way to stay healthy and spend time together as a family.
How are you staying active in the summer?

I seriously need to start working out!
I agree that there are so many ways to stay active during the summer. It’s fun to play and be together as a family.
I love going for nature walks. I’ve also started getting into yoga. 🙂
I was off to a great start the 1st few months of the year, but the last few, I’ve slacked off & now it’s catching up with me.
I love to play badminton in the summertime. I can do it for hours and hours. I love it so much! There’s a lot of rain lately though, so I can’t play!
I’m so lazy in the summer.. It’s too hot to work out! No, but seriously.. I need to get my butt back in gear!
I have been slacking so far, but I plan to get back out running.
We just walked two miles today!! We are trying our best to stay active in this hot summer heat.
I have been doing a lot of swimming. So refreshing and a great workout.
I’ll be going on a nature hike this weekend! I need to do it more often, for sure.
Great tips hun, we’ve been keeping very active this summer. My favorite way…swimming.
I wish I could be more active in the summer but it’s seriously too hot and muggy out to deal with anything other than death.
I’ve been thinking of trying this, I hope it works. Fitness is so important.
I drop my kiddo off at camp and hit the gym! 🙂
I workout in the comfort of my home {it’s SO hot outside!} and swim. In a few weeks I’ll be joining a yoga class as well.
I am so working to my fitness goals this summer. I just started a new workout program and I can’t wait to see where I am in 60 days.
There are definitely so many ways to stay active in the summer, we are walking over 5 miles per day on our camping trip and it feels great!
I can’t wait to get back to fitness once this vertigo is all gone and the doc gives me the OK.
I am staying active by taking lots of long walks with the family. My girls love to get outside and it’s good for all of us.
I’m the least active in the summer as the heat seems to drag out every last bit of energy that I have. I know, it’s weird.
I try to go to the waterpark a couple of times a week and walk 2-3 times a week. I am not doing a good job.
I started slacking off in May, and then we just got back from vacation, and I’m visiting my parents now, so I’ve been eating badly (well, great food, but you know what I mean). I will be back home tomorrow and I’m going to get back on track. It’s so easy to get off of it. :/
I’m at the gym at least 6 days a week and just love it! I take a wide variety of classes but since I was also in dance for about 15yrs, I am a big Zumba fan.
