Teens Want Cell Phones But Parents Don’t Want The Outrageous Bill

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have a son who is fixing to be a tween, with the aging comes new wants and needs of course.  One of which is a cell phone. Granted he does have one for basic needs but as he gets older (and I am sure my other two will as well) he wants bells & whistles on his cell phone.  He wants to text, picture text, make calls and surf the web but we as parents aren’t going to pay what it will cost to add a “bells & whistles” phone onto our current plan.

We are going to begin looking into Straight Talk, a set monthly rate (that is over 50% less than what we pay for our phones) and he can have those extras he wants.  Whether he is using his phone to surf the web or Call a friend this is looking more and more to us like an option we will consider.  Not to mention he will love that you can get an Android on Straight Talk.

With the $45 unlimited plan you get unlimited calls, texts, picture messaging and web surfing, that’s less than $500 for a whole year…I hate to say my current plan hits that A LOT quicker and if would do so even more if we added a fancy phone onto our current plan. There are no activation, termination or reactivation fees either.  Hook, line and sinker!

So when you are looking for that phone and plan to keep your pockets padded with some of that hard earned cash the Nokia e71 Galaxy and Straight Talk might just be perfect for you!

This is EXACTLY what I have for my 12 year old, and I LOVE IT! I highly recommend Straight Talk – we have used them for about a year now. We had TracFone first, but I like this much much more!

We’re about to be at this stage, too! Definitely polling other Moms to see what they’re doing – its so funny to think how much technology has changed! I still remember when I had a BEEPER!!
