SendCheer With Cheerios & USO…We Did It

sendCheer

A few days ago I shared with you about Cheerio’s sendCheer initiative! It’s a great way to bring a smile to a military families face and take part in giving back to programs that help military families! I wanted to do my part so I headed to Walmart.

I searched around for any special displays they might have since this program is just starting but didn’t see any. I admit to being disappointed about that living in such a big military community. Of course that didn’t deter me, I just headed down to the cereal aisle and found the box of Cheerio’s ready to come home with me! As I looked at the back I was impressed with how the very simple instructions that were easy to see.
Walmart

I headed up to the registers when the Christmas aisle caught my eye. Never send a hungry girl who is weak to cookies and chocolate shopping when the seasonal stuff comes out. I fully blame this shop on “needing” to pick up some chocolate covered crackers and white fudge covered cookies. I take no responsibility for that at all!

Once at home, I take the Cheerio’s out of the box (which they will come in handy when I go to make my white chocolate Christmas candy mix). Don’t forget to cut out the box top for your child’s school if they do that. I loved how they had your “cut line” easily seen on both the inside and outside of the box making it easy for child & adult alike to cut out the postcard. A simple message of Thanks and my card is ready to go.
Military Family

Out in the mailbox my family’s card is waiting to be picked up and delivered to a military family somewhere in the world. I also just helped raise money for military family programs. Putting a smile on someone’s face and helping in a very easy way makes for a GREAT day in our home. If you think about it today or anytime for the next year, head out to your local Walmart and pick up a box of the specially marked Cheerio’s so you can make a military family smile AND get to help out in a very simple way.
