Home Organization: Sometime All It Takes Is A Little Rearranging

One thing that can make me feel like I am living in a new house is rearranging an area. Whether it’s for a party, a family dinner, or just to make a room feel new, rearranging is something I do quite often in my house. Much to my husbands dismay, I may have the house one way when he leaves for work and completely different when he returns home. One of the big things for me, and what I usually rearrange for, is to feel more organized.

I can have a room the way I think I want it, then a few weeks later have a genius idea on how to make it seem bigger. I want my home to be set up in a way that makes it perfect for anything life throws our way. It could be a slumber party with my daughters friends, a game night in for my boys and their friends, or just a simple family night in for movies. No matter what we are doing I want to use what I have, maximize the space, and make it perfect.

Check out a few tips from DIY blogger Victoria Hudgins (A Subtle Revelry) and Pledge on how rearranging a space and using what you have on hand can transform a room perfectly for a party.

Not only can you use these tips for party planning, but play with them in your day to day life. Use the tips and tweak them so they work for home organization. Sometimes all our homes need is a new look and that can be as simple as changing up the layout, cleaning a few things, and using what you already have on hand.

I began the slow and daunting task of co9mpletely organizing my entire home just recently. I felt like we had too much crammed into our very small house. Our home is 1600 sq ft and with 6 people, we’re short on space. Organizing things makes me feel better about my life and it makes the house much cleaner.

She had some great tips to share. I don’t think I will ever feel completely organized thanks to my OCD but I do feel that we have made wonderful progress as a family.
