I, to this day, remember the time I had the chance to go to a car race in person. It was one of the most fun experiences in my life (so far). So, there are races, like the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Race, where we look forward to watching fast cars to see who is going to come out on top. But a good race weekend includes good eats and drinks.
Today I want to share some of our favorite foods as we gear up for IMSA Racing. There are people in our family who love to gather together and enjoy the races. We’ve been to races in person and watched races on the TV, no matter if it’s in person or on TV, watching the races means getting together to root on our favorite driver and GREAT FOOD. Today I want to share race day food must-haves for when you are watching the IMSA series starting March 15-18.
Her are some of our favorite race day foods:
Sangria (recipe here)
What’s a race without a refreshing drink? This sangria is perfect for springtime races when citrus fruits are in season.
Buffalo Wings from our favorite wing place.
We love heading to our local wing place to pick up wings by the bucket, what’s an IMSA race day without wings?
Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos (recipe here)
This cilantro lime chicken is delish and perfect for when you want something a little more hearty than chicken wings.
Blueberry and Raspberry Sorbet (recipe here)
A refreshing treat to enjoy using fresh fruit to make a yummy sorbet.
Raspberry Mojito Mocktail (recipe here)
This Mojito is a great drink that kids can enjoy too because it has no alcohol!
I like any reason to enjoy foods, so starting March 15 and going through March 18 I will be snacking on the foods while I watch the IMSA racing!
IMSA Racing is all about high-tech, race cars from the world’s top auto manufacturers (like Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche..just to name a few) going head to head. Add in exciting racetracks and historic events like the historic 12 Hours of Sebring and premier drivers, and you are in for some fast-paced fun March 15-18.
On March 18, you can tune into the WeatherTech Championship on Fox Sports 1 from 12:30 pm to 11 pm. Or tune in for the entire race broadcast on FOX Sports Go from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm.
Are you ready for the races? What are some of your favorite race day snacks?
