Quotable Sunday 5/24/09

Happy Sunday quoters! I hope you all have a wonderful day today. Memorial Day is of course Monday and it’s a day to pay respects to those who are fighting and have fought for our country. It’s one of the bravest things a person can do and I am proud to say I am part of this country who is helping to fight for us as well as fighting for other countries too. So my quotes today are surrounding Memorial Day.

For love of country they accepted death… ~James A. Garfield

They fell, but o’er their glorious grave
Floats free the banner of the cause they died to save.
~Francis Marion Crawford

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a headstone in Ireland

The brave die never, though they sleep in dust:
Their courage nerves a thousand living men.
~Minot J. Savage

The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example. ~Benjamin Disraeli

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

The patriot’s blood is the seed of Freedom’s tree. ~Thomas Campbell

We come, not to mourn our dead soldiers, but to praise them. ~Francis A. Walker

How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~Maya Angelou

Thank you, thank you to all who risk their lives everyday to keep us free, to make us the great country that we are and for being unselfish enough to help other countries in the process. That truly is the most unselfish life a human can lead. Risking his life so that their country can be free! I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day and take time to remember and even thank some soldiers today. There is none braver than those willing to fight to keep us the great country that we are.

Looking forward to getting around and reading all your quotes today. So add them to Mr. Linky below. Happy Sunday Everyone.

Sorry had to take mr. linky out he was slowing up my page.
