As I continue on my venture of being one of Coca-Cola’s Mama Bears (by the way don’t you love my cute little self made can button) I love all the things I am learning about the Arctic Home initiative.
I am a giver, I give of my time, my love, and when possible my resources or things we have. I am hoping that in some way my kids see the things I do to give back. Whether it’s a hands on helping someone or simply donating to someone in need. This time of year I sit back and think of so many that are not so lucky and wish I had the means to help all of them. I read this article about unknown people paying off layaways at different stores so people that may not have been able to get things for Christmas will be able to. I am determined to head down to my local Walmart and see if they will let me do the same. At the very least paying on some of it to help.
I believe in paying it forward and I hope my kids understand just how much a small act can help someone. This year as Christmas is approaching I have told them we need to go through their toys and books to see what items they would like to give to charities that help those that don’t have the same things we have. There has been a time we were one of those families and while they don’t grasp the need we had I do hope one day when they are older and can understand it better that will play into their wanting to help others.
A simple way to pay it forward and help a few of our furry friends is through Coca-Cola’s Arctic Home program. Picking up the red Arctic Home cans you can donate to Arctic Home through logging on to the Arctic Home site, texting package codes to the package code to 357357 to make a $1 donation to WWF or donating points through MCR.com. If you are looking to give back this season in another way you can find more information on how you can join Coca-Cola and help the polar bears here: www.arctichome.com.
Have you paid it forward before? I would love to hear stories in the comments below on how you give or gave back!

This is such a neat program. And I love those cans so much! It’s great that you’re teaching your children to give back–I think the younger you start, the more it becomes second nature.
I donate time & money to animal charities whenever possible. I started doing it after my cat Diego died and it helps me to remember him. And I give financially to other charities here and there when I can–it’s not much, but if everyone gave a little when they could, I think the world would be a better place! ๐
I definitely agree, every little bit does help and how wonderful of you donating like that. I have to say I am proud to stand behind this program ๐
This is one reason I love this holiday season. People are a little kinder and willing to pay it forward more. Good for Coca-cola for doing this, it’s really awesome!
we try our best to donate time, money and goods to those in need. It’s so easy to forget with busy schedules and all but I think our hearts are in the right place most of the time.
I wasn’t aware of this program. What a neat idea!
THis is awesome for my favorite soda company to do! The holidays are all about giving and they are certainly doing their part!
I agree, I love that they are doing something to help and give back!
That’s a really great thing Coca Cola is doing!! We always donate to Toys for Tots. One boy gift one girl gift and my son really loves doing it too!
I agree Blondie, I love that they are doing something to help save a species that is in danger. And that is awesome that your son loves donating to Toys for Tots, it always touches my heart when our kids love to give ๐
Thanks for sharing this, I like to know where I can go to help out and I hadn’t heard of this yet. : )
I have been given the title “Treehugger” by my father first, and then my children as they got old enough to understand why my father called me this. I give to various ecological, and animal charities. I tweet for several foundations too. We recycle scrap metal, as well as aluminum, and I have been known to stop on a long country road, have my children unload, and we pick up garbage. I give back by keeping my Earth in the best possible condition, so my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be able to enjoy it too.
