How You Can Help Build A Dream #GivingBack

Our church home

This building, is the place we like to call “The Palm Tree Church”. Now, technically that’s not the name of it, it has a sign with the name of the previous organization on it.  However,  we are believing and have faith that soon that sign will say “Destination Church of Navarre”

For Sale Sign

My mom, who is the pastor alongside my dad, of Destination Church of Navarre, knew from the moment, even before this for sale sign went up, this was the place Destination Church needed to call home. She started digging and finding out who owned it , there was a beautiful church just sitting there, waiting to be used. Now, before I continue let me go back a bit.

School Meeting Place

As you can see, right now, we meet in a school. Which, has not been a bad thing. It’s served as a great meeting place, but now is the time God is really pushing Destination Church to go big! We want a place we can have worship practice, dance team practice, a place that can be used in the community for good. For instance, the after school dance group, that so many kids loved, didn’t get to take place this school year because they had nowhere to meet. How awesome would that be, for our building to be a meeting place for something like that.

Every Sunday, because we meet in a school, we have to set up and tear down all the sound equipment and instruments, the dance team stuff, and the kids church has to meet in the teachers breakroom or a hallway, if the former is not available. We want to do so much, but are so limited because we don’t have a permanent home, but we are hoping to change that.

My mom, has been faithfully pursuing, believing and following God’s lead in hopes of making “The Palm Tree Church” our home. Once the property officially went up for sale, she started doing everything she could to raise money, it was so inspiring to watch and be a part of. Unfortunately, we didn’t get close to what the asking price was, but that’s a-okay because God is a God of miracles.

Auction Sign

They still have their building fund and I have no doubt it is going to come in handy. However, we just found out that the building is no longer for sale, but on May 14, 2014 it’s going up for auction. It would be so easy to throw our hands up and say “Why in the world is this happening, we believed that was meant for us” but that’s not what my mom (nor I) will do. We know this isn’t a surprise to God, He already knew this was going to happen. We thought we were raising money to buy it when it was for sale, but seems we have been raising money to get it at the auction. This, is such a dream for all the members of the church, we want to go to that auction and leave with a testimony and a new building!

We have no doubt God is working, and we have no doubt He is going to use someone, or several someones, to help make this dream a reality. We would love for you to pray and agree that on May 14, 2014 we will walk into the auction and out with a new building. We also know that faith without works is dead, so I am going to ask each of you to also pray about partnering with Destination Church of Navarre and donating to the building fund! Your donation will be tax deductible. If you are lead to be a part of this exciting adventure financially here is the information you need:

I have watched my mom and dad, the pastors, do so much for the community, have faith when things looked hopeless, and always put others before themselves.  If I could make this one thing happen on my own, for them, I would do it in a heartbeat (who knows, between now and May 14, God may send me a $500,000 blog contract, nothing is to big for him), but as of the moment of this post, I don’t have that, so I am asking you all to pray about donating.

So, are you ready to help build a dream? I know I am!! Have a blessed day and get ready to watch and see the goodness of God!

  3. 3

We always believe God will lead us if we just allow. No fighting or pushing for something our of our reach with out the hand of God. Good luck with the auction. My prayers are with you.

  4. 4

that is wonderful… maybe when it goes up for auction, you can get it for less…. esp since there are no bites on it selling… prayers your way!

  5. 5

I believe whole hearedly that everything happens for a reason, so it will work out in the end. I think that god has a plan for everything, but sometimes it takes a while for it to go into action! Good luck with the fund raising 🙂

  12. 12

  15. 15

What a wonderful cause, I can’t wait to see w hat it looks like after.

  16. 16

I hope it works out at the auction. I went to a church for a while that met at a school and the set up and tear down each week took so long!

  17. 17

I hope it all works out and the money is found. Whatever is meant to be will happen.

  18. 18

God will lead the way to the right church location for you all. Good luck with your fundraising efforts.

  19. 19

I firmly believe that God always has a plan, but it might not be the plan you wanted to follow. Rest assured, what is meant to be will be. If this is not the one, maybe he’s been setting you up for something better. It all happens in His time, not yours. Good luck!

  20. 20

I’ve always wanted to build my own dream home, but it looks like it would be a bit difficult.

  21. 21

  24. 24

With God’s blessing and your hard work, this can come true. Your goals or ‘God worthy’ and I am sure He will bless your congregation and your parents good works.

God works in such a mysterious way! I pray that the Destination Church of Navarre get a new home so they may continue help their community! Sharing!

  29. 29

I know from experience that God will provide you exactly what you need and when you need it. I am a pastors wife in Detroit and a living testimony of God’s provision!

  30. 30

Keep strong in your faith. If this is truly meant to be it will be. If not, then something better is meant for you.

  31. 31

Good luck with the raising of funds. I know it takes a lot of work. My childhood church just went through this with a big expansion.

  32. 32

Wow, sounds like it has been a roller coaster ride… and like others said, maybe it isn’t meant to be… but maybe it is. It would be great if you would get it from auction. 🙂

  33. 33

Maybe some type of deal can be struck if this doesn’t sell at auction. I will say a prayer that you are able to secure this building for your church. Good luck to you and your community.

I hope you get your building soon. I am sorry you dream fell through,

Best of luck with fundraising! God is good and He will provide!

  53. 53

Wishing you lots of luck in your fundraising! If there is a will there is a way!

  54. 54

As president of a nonprofit I know how it feels to have a vision and a dream. I also know how hard and frustrating fundraising can be. good luck.

  55. 55

Best of luck to you. I hope that you are able to raise the money and make your vision happen.

  56. 56

What an awesome opportunity! Praying that God will have His hand in all decisions and take your church to the right building!

  57. 57

That’s a wonderful direction to be pushed in, where so many new opportunities will open up for them too, I’m sure. Wishing you so many great blessings with this one!

  58. 58

Best of luck with your fund raising efforts! These are just bumps in the road of life, we can get past them!

  59. 59

Good Luck on getting all the funding you need for this church! It looks like a great place and I know that if you’re meant to be there, you will be.

  60. 60

WE currently meet at a school too. It’s nice to combine spaces but I can see where a building would be so helpful.

  61. 61

I agree that faith without works is dead. Everything will workout. In his mighty name.

  62. 62

That church is SO gorgeous, I pray that it’s God’s will that it becomes your church. How nice of a school to let you hold services in their building, not a lot of schools would do that!

  63. 63

Best of luck finding your permanent home! Sounds like your highly invested.

  64. 64

I truly hope that you all get your church. It is such a beautiful building. Looks like it was just made for the purpose your mom has. I will definitely be sharing this post.

  65. 65

I really hope that your family can set up your church in this building! Best of luck at the auction 🙂

  66. 66

I honestly believe that by giving back – blessings (other blessing) will come pouring on you.

  67. 67

I hope that this becomes the home of your church! My church meets in an art gallery, and while it is a nice location, the members have to put everything up and then take everything down each and every week, as your church does. I really do hope that everything works out for you!

  68. 68

What a great project. Thanks for sharing.

  69. 69

Oh that would be wonderful if you will be able to get that church! We have always been blessed with an actual meeting house. Although; we have lived in areas where it was mostly just a rental underneath some apartments. That was interesting. But there is nothing so special as having a special place designated for your worship! Prayers you will see this a reality!

  70. 70

You’re right! There’s nothing too big for God! I know He has amazing plans.

  71. 71

We have a saying, man proposes, God imposes. If it’s meant to be, it will be.

  72. 72

Good luck fundraising! It certainly would be a blessing!
