Basketball season is in full swing and I have a few basketball fans in my house. I am sure I am not the only one with basketball fans in the house, who is your house rooting on this season? One of the best parts, for me, during the game, are the foods we eat. You just can’t have a game without some fun foods, right? They love to watch the game while snaking on fun and tasty game day goodies, so I headed to our local Target to pick up the necessities for the perfect game day snack!
Coke Zero, REESE’S Minis, and OREOS!
I found the OREOS in the cookie aisle, the REESE’S minis in the candy aisle, and the Coke Zero in the drink aisle at Target. If you are a Coke Zero fan or have wanted to try it I have some fun news for you! You Don’t Know Zero ‘Til You’ve Tried It. Coke Zero and Target will allow consumers to try a Coke Zero through “Drinkable” advertising which takes traditional advertising elements and makes them actually drinkable – leading to a free 20oz. Coke Zero at Target! Consumers can participate in these unbelievable experiences through a drinkable TV spot, jumbotron and even at CokeZero.com beginning April 2nd. Just come thirsty with your Shazam app ready!
While my family sits and sips on their sodas, I get to making their favorite snacks. First up is our favorite REESE’s Minis Sweet and Salty Snack Mix. If you are a fan of saving money, you might like to know there will be a REESE’S coupon on the Cartwheel App from 3/15 – 4/4, so be sure to download it! Now, how to make the snack mix!
What I love about this snack mix, is it is only 7 ingredients and the longest part in the recipe, is the waiting for it to set, so I am in and out of the kitchen in minutes!
First, I mix the cereals, peanuts, and pretzels in a large bowl
Next, I add the oil to the morsels and microwave, then pour over the mixture
I mix the white chocolate in the cereal, pretzel, and peanut mixture, once mixed I add the REESE’S minis (I do this after so they don’t melt with the hot white chocolate:
Once mixed I spread out onto waxed paper and allow to cool. Then I break it apart and VOILA, you have a super easy game day snack mix ready to go!

It’s such an easy snack and perfect for big game days! One other, sweet snack, we love to enjoy on game days are chocolate dipped OREOS! They are super simple to make! Simply empty half a bag of milk chocolate morsels into a microwavable bowl, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and microwave for about a minute and a half (or until melted). Dip OREOS into melted chocolate and lay on wax paper to set. ENJOY!
