I am not sure about you but sometimes joining a gym isn’t the most cost effective way to stay in shape. Gym memberships can cost a pretty penny and it’s not always comfortable working out in front of complete strangers. Unfortunately working out is a must if you want to stay in shape, or at least it is becoming that way for me.
Long gone are my days of eating whatever I want and exercising very little while still being able to have a cute body. As I’ve aged if I want to eat whatever I want I have to add in activity and the gym isn’t a great option for me because they cost A LOT of money. The gym close to me costs $39.95 a month for singles or $49.95 a month for joint memberships plus a $49.99 annual fee. So over a year for just me it would be $530 and that’s not counting the gas to get to and from the gym! I am sorry but we just don’t have that extra to spare each month. There is a new cost effective way to work out in our house and it’s called Gaiam TV.
Gaiam TV is this busy moms way to work out at home so I have no excuses. I just started using Gaiam TV a few days ago and looked around. I was amazed at everything they offered. Lucky for me we have weights, cords, and many other workout items in our home but I am not very inspired to come up with a workout of my own. Gaiam TV solves that problem by allowing me to use my equipment while someone leads me in a workout. It’s kind of like attending one of those classes at a gym but for a lot less money. The cost to subscribe is only $9.95 a month. You tell me where you can attend yoga, fitness, pilates and other classes for that cost?
Gaiam TV can be used from your computer, your television (with Roku player, some titles may not be available), and even your mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and coming soon to Android). So you literally have fitness wherever you go! I am seriously considering going to a secluded spot on the beach one evening and doing some yoga while the sunsets. I think that would be such a relaxing experience.
Benefits of Gaiam TV:
- Gaiam TV is your at home gym – anytime, anywhere!
- Innovative Service & World-Class Programming: Gaiam TV is the first streaming video subscription offering designed to reach those interested in health, wellness, yoga, fitness and personal development. With over 2,000 titles, there is something for pretty much anyone.
- User-Friendly and Customizable Programming: Viewers can customize workouts for weight loss, total body sculpting or increased energy and narrow down their options based on level, style, instructor and amount of available time.
- Free to Try: Gaiam TV offers a free 10-day trial to prospective subscribers. The $9.95 per month subscription fee allows subscribers to stream unlimited content. The subscription is no strings attached; there is no commitment, and members can cancel at anytime.
As I have said I have only been using it for a short time but I am loving all the workouts and videos to choose from. I can work my work out into my schedule of blogging, cleaning, homework time, sports practices. It’s only $9.95 a month, need I say more! If you are looking for a way to add some activity into your life but don’t have the money to join a gym (or maybe the time) consider checking out Gaiam TV. Like me, you may be pleasantly surprised at all it has to offer and be on your way to a better body!
This post is sponsored by Gaiam TV. I also received a free trial of Gaiam TV to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

Toni – I got to review this as well, and I LOVE it. I went back to doing pilates (dragged out my Total Gym and use it as a reformer).
