27 years, 7 months and roughly 29 days since the original Footloose was released Hollywood has remade the Paramount classic. It’s hitting theaters tomorrow, October 14, 2011.
I am a HUGE Footloose fan. Meaning if I see it on anytime (even though I own the DVD) on the guide, my hand looses control and switches right to that channel. I jump up and am dancing right along with them. I play Footloose by Kenny Loggins more than I care to admit. Simply put I love “Footloose”.
I am always a little leery of remakes because sometimes they are a grand slam and other times they are a complete disaster and taint the name of the movie. From the trailer this Footloose looks to be good. I hope to make it to theaters this weekend to see it.
Check out the trailer over there in my sidebar and tell me what you think!
So are you a fan of the original Footloose? How do you think the remake will live up to it?

I loved the original and now my oldest wants to see this since she’s a dancer! I think we’ll watch the first one before we head to the theater! (Wish Zac Efron was the lead!)
I took dance for 15 years and I love all those kinds of movies. Oh yes Zac Efron would make it super yummy! I feel like a perv saying that lOL. I hear he is one considered for Johnny Castle though if they remake Dirty Dancing.
I LOVE Footloose and I am skeptical about a remake but I will HAVE to watch it to see for myself.
This is my thinkingtoo, I am always hesitant about remakes hopefully it does justice to the original 🙂
I am skeptical about remakes as well as they seem to be mostly disasters. But I really hope this is a good one!
To be honest, remaking this scares me. The original shouldn’t be touched!
I am a child of the 80’s and still get so much slack because I’ve never seen 2 movies: Dirty Dancing and Footloose! (I know, I know!) – but I am so excited to see this movie with the little ones. Who doesn’t love a great dance scene (or a movie full of them!) every once in a while! I know we’re going to love it!
