2013 Gift Guide: Dyson DC41 Animal

Post Disclaimer

With 3 kids and 2 dogs, the minute I clean up one mess there is usually another one waiting.  One thing I can’t stand to be messy is my floor, whether it’s our carpet or our bare floors doesn’t matter.  I like to walk around barefoot, it’s a Florida girl thing, so the last thing I want is for my feet to be icky and black from my floors.  Not to mention, with the holidays here I want to have nice, clean floors for my guests.   Thanks to the Dyson DC41 Animal I have just that.

Dyson DC41 Animal Review

In the box was the operating manual, quick start guide, product registration card, 5 year warranty, crevice/brush combination tool, stair tool, tangle free turbine, and of course the body of the Dyson.

One of the things I was really excited about was the Ball™ technology, here is a little video of the swivel action:

Range of motion…..AWESOME!!

I was also excited about the Radial Root Cyclone™  technology which, in my opinion, is what sets this vacuum apart from any of the others I’ve owned.  I took the Dyson for a spin and was not disappointed.  On my first pass through my house it picked up so much, now a few days later, there is obviously more to pick up but you can see in the video the “ick” it picked up.  It kinda grosses me out that my floor housed that, even though I vacuum (with other vacuums in the past) every other day. I have a feeling as time goes on, using the DC41 Animal, there will be less “ick”.

Dyson Vacuum

Here are a few specs on the Dyson DC41 Animal:

  • Radial Root Cyclone™ technology
  • 235 AW Suction power
  • Ball™ technology
  • Lifetime washable post filter
  • Motorized brushbar
  • Instant high reach wand
  • 0.55 gallons bin capacity
  • 42.4 x 13.4 x 15.4 inches (H x W x D)
  • 51.7 ft max reach
  • 35 ft cord
  • 17.1 lbs

With a wand that will reach higher than I ever could, standing on a chair, with my old vacuum, I can honestly get my house clean from ceiling to floor!  As I said above, I love the ball technology, it allows me to get into nooks and corners I haven’t usually been able to with other vacuums.

The ease of switching from carpet to bare floors is awesome.  With other vacuums you have to stop, adjust something, then get to whatever floor you are cleaning.  With the Dyson DC41 Animal, you simply vacuum like normal and go from floor to floor.  The only adjustment that has to be made is the roller button next to the power button, with one click you turn off the roller.  This has been awesome because I despise sweeping!

Here’s a video Dyson has to showcase a little behind the scenes at the testing lab:

A few other reasons I have really taken to the Dyson DC41 Animal are:

  • No bags, no filters = money saving.  With some of my older vacuums, I would have to replace the bags and the filters, which I hated and it cost money.  With the DC41 Animal, there are no bags to replace and the filter has a lifetime warranty.  The filter is reusable, you simply remove, wash, let air dry, and use it over and over.
  • The tangle-free turbine.  When you have dogs or long hair like me, it’s a given there is going to be hair in the carpets and on the furniture.  So far, the turbine has stood up to the test of sucking up the hair without having any tangles in the “mouth”.
  • Cord Length.  I can do the main living area, dining room, kitchen all without having to unplug and move to another outlet.  The Dyson DC41 has some serious cord length.
  • It captures allergens and give you back clean air.  Here is what the site has to say “Ordinary vacuums can’t always retain all the dust they remove – so some of them vent some of it back into your room in the air they expel. That’s the reason for the dusty, electrical smell. Dyson cyclones can capture microscopic particles such as pollen, mold and bacteria.”

I could seriously go on and on!  This is a great vacuum for daily cleaning and deep cleaning.  I am happy knowing the more I use it the cleaner my house is becoming.  The Dyson DC41 Animal would make a great gift for someone this Christmas!  Have you ever owned a Dyson?
