Celebrate Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’s 50th Anniversary + Giveaway #Rudolph50

I was sent a sampling of books to facilitate my post. I did receive monetary compensation. Giveaway prizing provided by Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. Opinions are all my own.

To this day, I look forward to Christmas time. It’s one of my favorite times of the year, because I get to celebrate so many things. Along with the celebration, I look forward to all the fun shows that come on television. My favorites, though, are the classics and one of the classics I look forward to most of all is, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. The loveable little claymation cartoon brings back memories of watching it as Christmas drew near, when I was a child. I love that, now, I get to sit with my kids and watch it remind them that Christmas is arriving. We watched this past Saturday and I still love it just as much as the first time I saw it.

In fact, this year marks the 5oth anniversary of “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer”. Did you know it’s the longest-running and highest-rated TV special of all time, not to mention a beloved part of Holiday traditions! You know it’s definitely one of ours! The anniversary celebration includes a major tie-in with the U.S. Postal Service, tribute promos from CBS, a collector’s edition DVD with new bonus material, a new stage musical, theme park and in-mall entertainment, and a social media campaign – #ShineBright – that celebrates uniqueness in association with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.

To celebrate, both Christmas and the 50th anniversary, I am taking time to read some books each night this week, as we count down to Christmas Day!

Christmas With Family

After all, who wouldn’t want to make traditions with those faces above (taken in 2012)! Not only do we get to enjoy the show every year, but we can take out our books to enjoy as well. Does your family make a tradition of watching Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer when it comes on television or have any other holiday traditions?
