Cabana Bay Beach Resort

I’ve always wanted to travel back to the retro era and thanks to the Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Orlando, that’s almost possible. While I can’t actually go back in time, this fun resort and it’s quirky decor quickly make me feel like I’ve hopped in a time traveler and headed back to the 50s/60s! The first thing I noticed as we arrived were the four cars from the eras mentioned, and while I am not a car aficionado, I definitely appreciated the ones in the front of the hotel. The fun didn’t stop there!

The minute we walked in, I loved the decor. The lobby was so open and spacious, good thing, because Cabana Bay was definitely the place to be that day. The line to check in was extremely long, but one of the staff made sure to greet each person and apologize for the long wait. I wasn’t bothered by it, but I figure best to warn those who will be checking in. After we got our key cards, which if you are staying on site will serve as your early entry into parks, we headed to our room!

Cabana Bay Beach Resort Living Room

I told you the colors were fun!  I was immediately pulled in with the funky decor.  As you can see it’s a very 60s mod era feel!  Which I personally LOVE!  They layout of our room was you walk in the door and there is a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, wall storage, and a microwave (don’t leave those left overs at City Walk).  Immediately to the left (pictured above) is the living room which offered a television, a bar to eat at,  two sitting chairs and a couch that lets out to a bed.

Through a door, that also doubles as the room divider, is the bedroom.   With two full size beds in here, the entire suite can sleep up to six people!  The decor is just as groovy in the room.  Attached to the room is the spacious bathroom, with plenty of room for everyone and the closet!

Space At Cabana Bay

What I love about this bathroom, is the shower area is in it’s own “room” and has a sink.  The toilet is in it’s own “room” and in between the two is another sink area.  Which means there is plenty of privacy and room for everyone to get ready.  The closet is a bit on the small side but there is enough room for vacationers to store belongings and with an in wall safe all your valuables can be securely locked away.  The hotel doesn’t stop at just decor to make you feel like you have went back in time, extras like VO5 and Zest instantly take you back in time, as does the “old school” alarm clock

Cabana Bay Extras

The hotel offers so much in terms of extras, so you could almost not leave when you are vacationing at Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

Bayliner Diner

Bayliner Diner is where families can get their very own hot plates, and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner together.  With plenty of seating, you can plan your day with breakfast and talk about the memories made over dinner!  I loved the retro commercials they played on the screen!

Cabana Bay Activities

With so many other activities, a gym, a game room, and even a bowling alley, Cabana Bay Beach Resort will never be boring!  We had the chance to check out Galaxy Bowl before dinner and had a blast!  We even got to hang with some of our favorite yellow friends!

Of course if you forget to shop while at the parks, they have a store right in the hotel. It’s limited in what they carry but with Harry Potter, Simpsons, Transformers, and more, you will likely find something to take home!

Shopping At Cabana Bay

As if shopping, bowling, a room with xbox ones, and a game room are not enough, we have the pools!  With two pools, a lazy river, and a water slide, the kids may decide a day out of the parks and in the pools is just what they need!  My kids had a blast!

Hey! We are thinking of booking 4 nights here in October but I am wanting to know if the sliding door that shuts to separate the bedroom area from the tv/sofa area actually locks? We need an area to allow our infant to sleep while being able to keep our toddler from going in, so if it locks it would be perfect?! Do you remember?
