Aloha Friday #3

Today is Friday so Kailani is hosting her Aloha Friday! I love easy posts days somedays and today is one of those days. What are the rules…just post a question for others to answer (and of course answer yourself) then visit all the other Aloha Friday peeps to answer their questions and signing mister linkys everywhere ๐Ÿ™‚

Today’s Question from me is:

If you were going to be stuck on a deserted Island and could only bring 5 books to read what would they be??

Well mine would be all 4 Twilights, after all I do need my imaginary husband (Edward Cullen) with me right. And Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix because well I love me some Sirius too. Yep Edward Cullen and Sirius Black, a vampire and wizard what more could a girl ask for.

Its gotta be magazines as I subscribe to a whole bunch of em!!

  2. 2

Twilight (I’m counting the series as one because I can), Lamb by Christopher Moore, Phantom by Susan Kay, The Thorn Birds, and… dude this last one is hard… I’ll flip a coin and either take a Luxe novel or take Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. Although they are both series books so it’d be hard to only have one and not the rest. They are good enough alone.

Like you I would take The Complete Twilight Saga, and Trinity by Leon Uris.

  4. 4
    OLLIE MCKAY'S ~ A Chic Boutique

Hmm. . . all new David Baldacci & John Grisham books – love them all!

  5. 5

    Only five?

    Scriptures
& beyond that I'm in Big trouble since I can't narrow it down. lol So I guess it would be what ever survived the shipwreck!

  6. 6

5 books??? Ok, that is hard for me seeing that I don’t like to read “books”. What about magazines?? lol

    Let’s see….
Bible would be up there as number 1. I will have to get back to you on 2-5. (I know, bad huh??)

Oh wow that’s a tough one. I just bought The God Delusion and haven’t read it yet, so I’d have to bring that – also The Host by Stephenie Meyer I still need to read. I’d probably bring Gone With the Wind because it’s a favorite. That leaves room for two more… Maybe Life With Pi, I’ve always wanted to read it and it seems fitting with the desert island theme. Annnnnd Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne – I keep starting to read it to my son but we haven’t finished it yet.

  8. 8

I would bring my Bible definitely, but also I have to agree either the Twilight series, or the Shopaholic series!

  9. 9

I would bring mysteries and autobiographies.

    Melissa, Multi-Tasking Mama

    I would probably bring
Anne of Green Gables (one of my all time faves)
    A Beth Moore book
    A Joyce Meyer book
The Bible and a family photo album.

    Cool question ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. 11

That’s a tough one. If I had kids, I’d probably bring 4 kids books and a story like “Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio.”

  12. 12

Great question, Toni ๐Ÿ™‚ I LOVE to read..so it would be hard to just pick five. LOL!

Well, first would be the Bible. It has it all–even poetry!! So, that #1.

I agree with the Twilight books–Right now I am on Eclipse so I guess that would be the book I would take.

#3 would have to be the Velveteen Rabbit. I just LOVE that story. It is one of my all time favorite stories. When I was going through IV chemo and lost most of my hair-I could really relate to it ๐Ÿ™‚

#4 Something by Jane Austen–Sense and Sensibility or Emma?? Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors!

#5 To Kill a Mockingbird. Again, just a great story. One that I have gone back to read-time and time again.

    Ramblings by Brandi

All 4 of the Twilight Series and The Host. I love Stephanie Meyers writing its so awesome. Since I can only have 5 ๐Ÿ™ then that’s what I pick. This is kinda fun I think I will do a post of this too!

    TheAngelForever

I agree with another person (1) The Twilight Series counts as one (2) Beaches (3) Diary of Anne Frank (4) Journals to write in since we wouldn’t be able to blog (5)photo albums of family

  15. 15

    A bible
    Harry Potter
    Lord of the Rings
    Gone with the Wind
    Chicken Soup For the Soul

  16. 16

all 4 twilight books and the notebook by nicholas sparks.

  17. 17

twilight (the first book, but not the whole series), the 10th justice by brad meltzer, the fountainhead by ayn rand, a time to kill by john grisham and some trashy romance novel. if i’m stuck alone on a desert island, one of those is a requirement.

  18. 18

This is so hard! Assuming it was today that I would have to depart for said island, I would take: Bible, The Book Thief, To Kill a Mockingbird, TC Boyle Collected short stories and one of the books I got for Christmas and haven’t read yet… probably People of the Book

  19. 19
    The Social Frog

    1. The Bible
    2. My Sister’s Keeper
    3. The Book Thief
    4. A Version Of The Truth
    5. A notepad to write my own book.

    Only Five?

    1) The Bible
    2) Pride and Prejudice

    4) Jane Eyre
    5) Sense and Sensability

  22. 22
    Jenni Jiggety

Oooh…I have no idea! I would probably bring my 4 Twilight books and then maybe a new book?

  23. 23
    Amy A.K.A. "The Mrs."

shame on me. I’m not a big “book” person. I would say, I would bring my Bible, and some other inspirational books. (never read twilight)

  24. 24

    In no particular order….

*Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson
*Into The Night by Suzanne Brockmann (gotta love this series!)
*The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
    *Fast Women by Jennifer Crusie
    *Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

I think I’d rather like to take 5 Kindles! Then I could have a HUGE amount of books!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. 25

The Twilight series for sure.. lol and my Bible!

  26. 26
Just A Mom (Call me JAM for short)
