Stepping Onto The Set of ABC’s black-ish #ABCTVEvent #BigHero6Event

blackish

I told you all about how I had the chance to sit down and chat with the stars of black-ish, but what I haven’t shared much of is about my experience on set. How does one share their experience of being on a show set..with photos of course!

Blackish set selfies

Of course, one has to take plenty of selfies when on set of a show, how else can you prove you were really there! I loved this set…in fact I have decided I want to live in this house…hmm I wonder if that would be allowed when they aren’t taping? The cool thing is, those stairs you see, in the show they go up to the kids room, but in actuality they don’t go up to anywhere. The upstairs and downstairs are both on the same floor but through the magic of television, you see them coming up and down the stairs, pretty cool!

Blackish Set Extras

I loved all the little touches of photos, books, and all that through the set. It really did make it feel like a home…well minus the missing ceiling and it being inside a building. I’ve seen it on the show, of course, but when I saw the kitchen on set, I knew right then and there I would be an avid chef if it were my kitchen. With to do notes, food, and so much more it was really cool to be in a set kitchen but it feel so homey.

Once we finished exploring the downstairs, we headed to check out the rooms. I knew right then, my kids would kill for rooms like the Johnson kids have. Fun colors and themes these rooms were inspiration for any designer!

Then came the master bedroom, which will have quite the funny scene in tonights episode. This room was perfection. The only thing I will say is…Shoe wall!!! Check out the master bedroom and bath:

I will say it was a little unfair, because Dre had a huge wall for his shoes while Bow had a tiny little section….in my perfect house that would be reversed! It was so much fun getting to explore the set of black-ish and see everything in person that I see on the show. Sometimes you wonder what is and isn’t the same on a set and this set is exactly what you see on TV.

MARSAI MARTIN, JENIFER LEWIS

Get ready for this weeks episode of black-ish! The episode “Oedipal Traingle” has Dre’s mother coming for a visit. She smothers her pork chops with gravy, Dre with love, and would like to flat out smother Bow, who feels the same way about her. Dre tries to find a way to get the two most important women in his life to get along. It airs tonight, Wednesday, 11/19/2014 at 9:31-10:00 p.m. EST on the ABC Television Network. Jenifer Lewis (“Meet the Browns,” “Strong Medicine”) guest stars as Ruby.

JENIFER LEWIS, MARSAI MARTIN, ANTHONY ANDERSON, TRACEE ELLIS ROSS

Will you be watching black-ish tonight??

That must be really cool to be on the set of a TV show. Then, when you watch it, you have this familiarity with everything there and get to relive the moment all over again.
