Windows Smartphones: A Must Have for Those Who Want to Stay Connected

I know I am an on the go mommy and also work as a pharmacy technician. So when I am out and about I love to be able to jump online, upload pictures basically everything that I can do from my home PC I want to be able to do on the go. Mom Central has joined with Windows to promote Windows Mobile a perfect solution for the worker who needs to finish up a task during lunch hour or the mom who has important emails to send while waiting for her child to finish with soccer practice.

Windows Mobile smart phones run on the same Windows system as PC computers so, your computer and phone applications sync together easily. With my current phone I take pictures all the time but never want to upload them because it can be a little bit of a hassle. That all changes with Windows Mobile, you have the ability to easily e-mail photos from your phone to your PC or post them directly to the Web. That’s a big plus in my book.

Out of all their smart phones the one that has caught my eye is the Samsung Omnia.

You go look at that and tell me that is not one of the sleekest looking phones ever. As many of you know I am a current iPhone user and one of the things I love about it is the touch screen, so when I found out this phone was a touch screen with….get ready….a 5 mega pixel camera I had a moment of shock. That to me would be worth the price alone, it sells for $199 (much less than what I paid for my current phone but we won’t get into that).

Here is a little more about the Samsung Omnia:
The Samsung Omnia helps keep even the busiest life in balance. It offers the best in features and functionality—all accessed through a full-sized, customizable touch display with drag-and-drop widgets. Loaded with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and a full HTML web browser, the Samsung Omnia also includes a 5-mega pixel camera and a music player with FM radio—and it’s all wrapped up in a sleek package. It is compatible with Verizon service.

A little more about Windows Mobile because like me I think you will start to yearn to have one of the phones that has Windows Mobile on it.

Phone Calls:
You can check an appointment or look for directions while you’re on a call. Call friends, check voice mail, and view e-mail and text messages all from the Home screen. It’s your own personal command center.

Email:
Sending and viewing e-mail is simpler with Windows Mobile 6.1. E-mail messages look like they do on your PC—they’re easy to read, no panning or zooming necessary. With Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile, you can enjoy all the features you already know and use on your desktop for creating, sending, and managing e-mail, and you can access all of your personal accounts including Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail, and AOL.

Instant Messaging:
Windows Mobile supports many of the messaging services you already use. Start as many messaging sessions as you like—you can even use more than one at a time. Simple sign-on lets you access your accounts in a snap.

Text Messaging:
Windows Mobile 6.1, it’s easier than ever to text. With threaded text messaging, conversations appear in chat-like style on your phone and are easy to follow. Windows Mobile phones have actual hard keys, which help to ensure speed and accuracy when you type.

Documents:
Windows Mobile makes productivity much easier. With the ability to have Microsoft Office Mobile you can edit documents on your phone, while you wait. When you’re done, you can sync them to your desktop computer. So that meeting that moved up and is happening right when you return from vacation, no worries, you will be able to finish that project while away and sync it the minute you return.

Internet:
Internet Explorer Mobile is designed for your busy life. You can search the web wherever you are for the information you need. Whether you are the mom trying to find out what that rash is or a blogger who needs to publish a post while you are out, with Internet explorer Mobile that is all possible.

Games:
For the Gamer in us all Windows Mobile has some awesome games available for your phone. My personal favorites are Guitar Hero 3 (yeah I love to pretend I can rock out), Bejeweled 2, and Monopoly Here and Now. It’s the ultimate fun for you or even your kids on long car rides.

Music and Video:
Windows Mobile 6.1 delivers a complete portable entertainment experience that is fun and easy to use. A customized mobile version of the familiar Windows Media Player offers high-quality video playback and support for a variety of media formats. As your media collection grows, Windows Mobile can grow with you through the support of external memory cards. With Windows Mobile Blue tooth capabilities, you can use the Blue tooth stereo headset feature and be totally wireless. The blue tooth capability is something I would kill for, I can listen to music on my phone now but would love to do it without the wires!

As you can tell Windows Mobile Phones are the all in one phone, I don’t even think phone should be used in their name, it should be more like mobile PC. Now never fear if you don’t have Verizon Windows Mobile has other phones for other carriers, so whether you have AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, etc they are sure to have you covered. You can check out their phone shop to see which smart phone will work with your service.

Windows Mobile has taken a huge leap ahead in the smart phone category with all the options they have available. They are sure to fit your needs whatever they may be and with Christmas right around the corner this is sure to make the person on your list smile this year. So head over to Windows Mobile and check out all the phones and learn more about the options available with Windows Mobile .
