This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support and incentives for participating in the ShakleeCorporation blogger program. My opinions are my own. People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
Losing weight is not easy. It’s something that requires a lot of effort and support. It doesn’t matter if someone has one or twenty pounds to lose, focus and support is key. As I finish up my month 5 as a Shaklee Ambassador, I am really realizing just how important support is. If you are surrounded by people who encourage bad habits and unhealthy life it’s going to be pretty difficult, lucky for me I’ve had people who are supportive and try to live healthier with me. Do we have some days of failure…sure, but overall the support I receive from my friends, family and Shaklee is what helps me push on even when I get frustrated.
Oh yes, I get frustrated when I don’t see a loss in either inches or weight but if I focus on that and give up I am never going to reach my goal. Instead I re-focus and let that push me. I can look at what may need to be changed, or maybe something I did change that didn’t work. I can sit down with the ones who support me and talk and get their thoughts. Sometimes, someone who is outside looking in can give a different view point that we may not see.
If you are that person outside looking in, offer encouragement. That can be in words, offering to exercise with the person who is trying to lose weight, simply listening to them when they have had an off day, or even celebrating with them when they lose a pound…because yes even a pound is huge deal…trust me I know. We all love support and someone on a weight lost journey will appreciate the support you give them, they are bettering themselves and that is all the reason to celebrate we need.
What are some ways you would support a friend or family member on their weight-loss journey?

I’m going on a weight loss journey and the only support I need is for my hubby to stop craving sugar and salt!
I would complement them on their successes, I would not encourage them to eat things that aren’t on their diet.
I’m hubby started coming to the gym with me. It’s been a great support!
I would cheer them on with each pound they lose!
I always try to have food they can enjoy eating!
I would support them by being there and helping them with whatever they need!
Support really is super important. I’m glad you have people around you who support you!
When I was trying to lose weight, right before I found out I was pregnant, I know it helped a lot when the people around me would make better, healthier choices, too.
I’d be super supportive, as I would want someone to do the same for me! 🙂
Motivation and encouragement! Lots of FB love!
I love working out with friends and family and use it as a way of helping to support their fitness journeys while they help me support my own. Together we can accomplish anything!
Compliments. And offer to go exercise/walk with them, or watch their kids so they could. 🙂
You are right, support is so important. I would support my friends and family by celebrating even the smallest of victories!
I think compliments always work well as a form of encouragement.
I am on the 10th week of my weight loss journey and I am enjoying the process because of my hubby’s support. My workouts became our bonding time.
