Well it’s the final day of 2010, who would have thought we made it this far, I remember everyone freaking out about Y2K! Usually I do a blog recap of the year but I figure you can all look through my archives this year. 2010 was a year in news where things had me crying, laughing, in shock, angry, and sometimes speechless. So I thought this year I would share some of the news from 2010 that really got my attention. In no particular order…
Simon Cowell gives up his chair on American Idol as 2010 is his final season. While I wasn’t too hurt over Ellen leaving (still not sure why she was there to begin with) and was kind of indifferent to Kara D leaving (though her showing up bikini girl in the previous season finale was priceless), Simon leaving really got to me. I mean really what is American Idol without Simon. Okay I am a little tickled pink over having Steven Tyler there, after all I am a HUGE Aerosmith fan. However you can’t replace Simon, he was funny, mean, and pretty to look at. So long Simon, AI will definitely not be the same.
*Cue the chorus, ahhhhhhh* Apple introduced the want I haven’t gotten yet iPad. Those geek people like me who think of their iPhones as a child, this is what we want. The tablet computer for those who love all things Apple. Essentially an oversized iPhone minus the phone and facetime. Yes this is my dream “to get”. They became such a hit that even Walmart is selling them now. I drool over them every time I go into the store, a girl has to have something to dream of right.
The late night host wars. Jay Leno leaves his desk at The Tonight Show to go primetime. Conan steps in. Jay Leno’s primetime show bombs. Conan gets kicked out from behind The Tonight’s Show desk. Jay Leno goes back to late night. Conan’s fans are in an uproar. Conan gets lots of money and starts his own show. Winner here…Conan!
First Titanic, then Avatar. James Cameron is an absolute genius when it comes to movies. Only to surpass his already owned top spot of Titanic, James Cameron sails past the tree tops (pun intended) to overtake his number one spot with his new number one spot. Avatar was a sci-fi like movie that kept even yours truly here interested. I am not usually into movies like that and went begrudgingly with my husband and aside from a slow start it was a movie I would see again and I can see why it has grossed so much money. Though I will say I still like Titanic better, it’s a romance afterall. No matter, kudos to James Cameron for dethroning himself.
It was a big year full of ups and downs for America’s Sweetheart, Sandra Bullock. The Up: An Oscar Win (not to mention looking stunning at the Oscars and every other photograph out there). The Down: Finding Out your husband is a pile of doodie who likes skanky women (I will admit I was upset over this I had hoped he changed). The Up: Adopting A Baby, I think she is going to be a great mother. Sandra has been in the news so often this year, I just hope 2011 brings her nothing but happiness.

We all know I am into these vampire books, movies, and shows. Being so into them I have this fascination with the stars from them. Whether it’s RPatz & KStew or this adorable couple Anna & Stephen (from True Blood). I love to keep up with them. So when these two lovebirds got engaged I had to follow all the details until the wedding. Mainly because I love Bill (Stephen) on the show LOL. Many happy wishes to them both.
Ranking right up there with the douchiness of Tiger Woods was this tweet from Jim Carrey “No wife is blind enough to miss that much infidelity. Elin had 2 b a willing participant on the ride 4 whatever reason. kids/lifestyle.” Thank you Mr. Douchebag. I have no where else to go with this it just is one of the things that shocked me most in 2010 and made me angry enough to do this post.
Well we all know what I am thinking of there, yes? I won’t go into it but to say I was angry at BP is an understatement. Something that should never have happened did and caused a lot of heart ache and job loss. Shame on you BP!

Hugh Hefner gets engaged! How many years did Holly Madison wait for that ring and never got it. Wonder what’s different about this girl. One can wonder if they will actually make it to the altar but at least he did finally divorce the wife he has been legally married to forever, I guess Crystal is just the right girl for him. Maybe it’s the fact she said she isn’t concerned about having kids (Holly never made a secret of wanting them)or it could be because she is stacked, young, blonde and pretty. But if they make each other happy well then more power to them.
After years of on again off again moments it seems the duo are finally ready to take the next step. I must say his mothers ring is gorgeous! And she is beautiful. He is cute as a button, I bet they will have adorable kids. Can you imagine marrying into royalty. The clothes and shoes that girl will have will be nothing less than amazing. Happy Wishes to them
The third installment of the Twilight Saga hit theaters. Eclipse came out in June 2010 and you can believe I was there for the midnight showing. I, in fact was there for the double feature of Twilight/New Moon before the midnight release of Eclipse. I would do it again if they have a triple feature before Breaking Dawn part 1. Also in movie news for 2010, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 1 was released and did not disappoint. Here’s to 2011 and the next installment of both these movies.
