Sushi is one of my favorite foods and there is a little restaurant here in Navarre that has some of the best sushi rolls I’ve had in a long time. The restaurant is called The Slippery Mermaid and ranks high on my must visit list if you ever head this way.
Their menu boasts “Off The Chain Chef Rolls”, Extra Ordinary Rolls, Signature Rolls, Spicy Roll Collection, Local Favorites, Sashimi, Nigiri, and a few other items. Your tastebuds will be happy and no worries for those who aren’t raw food fans they do have rolls that have cooked goodies inside as well as rolls with no seafood at all.
Today I am sharing with you some of my favorite menu items when I head to The Slippery Mermaid. Each time I go I start with a Miso soup. It’s a tasty treat to start your meal off lightly while you wait for your roll (or sashimi) to be done. When we head to The Slippery Mermaid we usually get the spicy tuna roll and the psycho mermaid roll. The later is definitely my favorite, it’s like a party for your mouth! Check out how yummy these look:
And yes they are just as yummy as they look!
The first is the spicy tuna roll. It is Yellowfin Tuna blended with a selection of spices, green onion, and cucumber. It does have quite a kick to it, so if spicy isn’t your thing you may want to avoid this one. We love it but, of course, we do love some spicy foods occasionally.
The second one is my personal favorite and while the name might scare you the only thing you need to be scared of is wanting more of this delicious roll. It’s called the Psycho Mermaid. It’s a Shrimp Tempura Roll stacked with oven baked surimi blend, drizzled with sweet eel sauce. This roll offers a bit of a crunch with rich flavors that are combined to perfection.
The Slippery Mermaid has a laid back atmosphere and with both in or outdoor dining options available you can take in the scenery or just have a fun lunch with friends. No matter if you are passing through Navarre, FL or staying with us in the area make sure to stop in and enjoy some food at The Slippery Mermaid. This is one restaurant you don’t want to slip through your fingers.
Check out their menu and like them on their facebook page to keep up with all things Slippery Mermaid.
**I paid for my own meal at the restaurant and was not asked to post. I just had to share because I love good food!**

Love it, looks really good, I love seafood, what a great presentation!
I am not a sushi lover but as long as it doesn’t have fish in it I’m good. What are those called… spring rolls? Those are good.

I like seafood (i.e. lobster, crab, and shrimp), but I can’t stomach the idea of eating sushi. It looks so gross to me, lol. This is a fantastic review, nonetheless. 🙂
