Hit The Beach At Home, With Teen Beach Movie

I received a sample of this product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my experiences with the product.

The Disney hit “Teen Beach Movie” hit the airwaves back in mid-July, but now you don’t have to wait for it to come on the Disney channel to watch it. On July 30, 2013, Teen Beach Movie became available for anyone to own on DVD. This made my daughter ecstatic. Trust me when I say there has been no lack of musical moments in our house since we received the DVD to review a few weeks ago.

“Teen Beach Movie,” part of the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise which introduced a generation to movie musicals, follows teen surfing sweethearts Brady and McKenzie, who together ride the last wave of summer, one that mysteriously takes them into a classic beach party movie, “Wet Side Story.” There, it’s surfers versus bikers for control of the beach hangout…and everyone spontaneously breaks into song and dance. Now, Brady and McKenzie must try to return to present day, but their lives may be changed forever when they inadvertently alter the movie’s romantic storyline — and the handsome leading man, surfer Tanner is falling for McKenzie while biker girl Lela is swooning for Brady.

When you pick up the DVD you get a super cute surfboard zipper pull. As if watching the movie wasn’t fun enough, there are lots of extras like the dance rehersals of numbers you see in the movie (anyone fancy putting together an at home version to share) as well as “Coolest Cats In Town” a number that didn’t make it to the movie but you still get to see. Running time is 90 minutes so if you have kids that are not into musicals (like my boys) they may walk away. However, my daughter and I have had a blast watching it quite often and, yes, I have even found myself singing along. Oh, and it’s suitable for all audiences with a G rating.

If you have a kidlet who loves Disney and/or Musical check out Teen Beach Movie, I have a feeling it will be played quite often like it has been in my home.  Teen Beach Movie will have those of us who love musicals singing and dancing along.  Have you seen this yet?
