I just returned for a trip to meet with the wonderful company, General Mills, at an event called Table Talk. Table Talk was about 25 bloggers, getting to know the inside of General Mills, with everything from how quickly they get vegetable from field to can to having the once in a lifetime chance of cooking in the Betty Crocker Kitchens. Now how many people can say they cooked in the Betty Crocker kitchens?? I am going to go out on a limb and say a very small percentage.
It was a 2 day event in which we hung with company executives and learned about new products, recipes, and sampled some absolutely yummy items. We also had the chance to voice our concerns, questions and give our input about what direction Bettycrocker.com should head in. I was very honored to be picked with the other bloggers. To me it showed that they valued the opinions of every day people when it comes to dinnertime solution, healthy eating, and what appeals to website users.
Arriving on Sunday I hopped in a cab with Frugal Is Fab and JLeighDesignz and headed to our hotel. Upon arrival the wonderful people of General Mills and Coyne PR had an awesome spread waiting for us. And I can assure you I was starving. With fruit, veggies, snacks, drinks and turkey sandwich plates (and of course sweets) we were well fed and full when heading up to our rooms. While eating my delicious meal I got to hang with Mommy Mo who is hysterical. We laughed and chatted. I then headed up to my room to rest and shower before the dinner cruise they had set up for us for that evening.
This is the group of women that attended the even while waiting to load the boat
The boat that we got to cruise Lake Minnetonka on was beautiful inside and out. But it was nothing compared to the beautiful sunset we got to see during the cruise, absolutely breathtaking. Â Here are a few pictures of the boat and cruise:
Myself, 1StopMom and Suburban Turmoil, these ladies were absolutely cracking me up the whole night. Half the night was spent socializing on the deck with some of the executives and marketing people from General Mills and they were so very kind and interested in what we had to say even during the out of the office setting. I also talked quite a bit with Julie from Julie’s Journal and Jennifer James. The first night was all about mixing and mingling with each other and the General Mills executives. This company truly wanted to get to know us outside of the company as well as have us give our input at their headquarters the following morning (a few more posts coming soon on the day spent at General Mills).
At the end of the evening it was a great time spent getting to know each other and mingling. It was a great start to the amazing day to follow. General Mills has always been a stand out company in my opinion and this event proved I was right in that thinking. Be sure to check back as I have a couple of posts coming about Monday spent in the General Mills Headquarters learning, cooking and sharing our thoughts with this wonderful company.
The picture below is of the girls on the front deck, we were laughing, having a great time and were lucky enough to have General Mills employee Mr. Hill, share his thoughts with us and take time to get to know us and our blogs. Two thumbs up for him!
