Get ready for your Emerald Coast Family Vacation, the sooner you plan, the better. I’ve already shared some of the fun you can have on Florida’s Emerald Coast, today I want to share a couple more places you need to know about when you plan your perfect emerald coast family vacation. When you vacation on Florida’s Emerald Coast you want to stay in a place that is centrally located and has great amenities. You will also want to enjoy food from local favorites. Today I am highlighting two places you will want to have as part of your Florida vacation.
Lodging
The Emerald Grande is the perfect location for your Destin Family Vacation. Located on the water and right by local hot spot, Crabbe Island, you may not want to leave the property at all. With pools, hot tubs, and a spa on the property it offers fun for the family. It is also located right on Harbor Walk Village which is full of restaurants, shops, water sport rentals, a zip-line and much more. The Emerald Grand is perfect for families because they offer between one and four bedrooms.
With a living room, dining room and full kitchen, you have all the comforts of home on your vacation.
Staying at The Emerald Grande you can wake up, enjoy breakfast and then take their shuttle to the private beach!
P.S. The view is amazing from pretty much every room there:
Spend the day with the kids playing in the sand and water, while you enjoy a good book and relax. You can even order from the hotel restaurant while you enjoy the beach. The shuttle returns every half hour, so when you are done just head back to the resort to enjoy the pool, hot tub, or escape to the spa! While it’s great to be able to have a fully stocked kitchen, you will want to enjoy at least one or two local spots. One of those spots needs to be Lulu’s in Destin.
Lulu’s was new to me, but it’s definitely a restaurant I will be frequenting. The fun, beach colors instantly called to me and I loved the open air seating. Behind Lulu’s is an area for kids (or adults) to play or just enjoy the beach while they wait for the food. The atmosphere will definitely draw you in, but the food is what will keep you wanting to come back to Lulu’s.
Not only does Lulu’s have a great menu, but they offer one of the most extensive allergy menus I’ve seen in a restaurant. Lulu’s truly wants to be able to accommodate anyone who comes through the doors. Have gluten, shellfish, soy, egg, dairy, or a seafood allergy. Take a peek in the allergy menu packed full of eats you can enjoy.
I had the hardest time picking out what I wanted to eat. Lucky for me, Lulu’s provided us with a tuna dip and fried green tomatoes to start with. Both were delish. Our table then ordered some of the fried crab claws, something I have eaten since I was a little girl. I have a high bar when it comes to crab claws and Lulu’s did not disappoint. For my dinner, I ordered the Mahi-Mahi basket with a side of Gouda grits. Every part of my meal was perfectly flavored. The light lemon pepper fish, with the seasoned fries is something even my picky kids would eat. I have very few words for the gouda grits, because they were exceptional. I venture to say you can’t go wrong with anything you order at Lulu’s.
You can plan your perfect Emerald Coast family vacation starting right now. Whether you are looking for great food or the perfect family-friendly resort in Destin, the Emerald Coast offers it all. Are you ready to plan your perfect family vacation?
