Mother/Daughter Moments #KotexMom

That’s my baby girl who some days seems like she is going on 18 year old. Okay so she is only 7 but she is one of 3 little people that make me so happy I have been blessed enough to be a mom. One of my favorite things about being a mom are the memories I make with my children. Whether it’s watching my boys play soccer, watching the girl at gymnastics or just having a family night in, the memories are something I will always have to hold onto. I want to make sure they are special.

Lately, I have been realizing the importance of quality time with my daughter as she gets a little older. As she grows up I want her to have memories with me like I do with my mom. Moments of having a spa day at home, walking along the beach hand in hand, or having fun trying on clothes at the mall. Some of those bonding moments are going to  be times spent talking about things she likes, worries she has, happy experiences, and just life in general.

My mom did such a wonderful job of keeping the lines of communication open with me I hope I can return that favor to my daughter. Whether she wants to talk about her crush on Harry from One Direction, what her favorite flavor lip gloss is or serious topics like the changes her body is going through as she gets older, I want her to feel 100% comfortable opening up to me.

Being 7, she is entering into the tween years which means, like all little girls, she will soon experience the changes girls bodies go through. It can be a bit scary and exciting all rolled into one, but it will be emotional that’s for sure. She will have questions and hopefully I will have answers. Thanks to the Kotex Tween site I have information on hand to get me started (after all she will be the first one I will have to talk to about womanly changes). I can’t wait for all the memories we will make as mother and daughter. While this is just one aspect that life will throw her way it’s one I know I can help her transition through and deal with, after all I have first hand experience myself.

Help keep your teen informed when you may not have time to sit and talk with them some days and introduce her to Hello Period. Hello Period is a site geared to answering period questions when you may not have the answers or those moments she may want to learn on her own. Be there for your daughter and communicate, that is what will make all the difference in the world as she grows up, I know it did for me.

I wrote this review while participating in a Brand Ambassador Campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of U by Kotex Tween and received products to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

No girls for me yet, so I do not have to have “that” talk.

My daughter is 9, and I have a feeling that I will be having this talk with her early. She’s already shaving.

My talk with my girls will be here before I know it!

My daughters are all grown up, but I do remember having the talk with them. It can actually turn into a bonding moment they will always remember.

I’m glad it’s far away for us!

What a great site for for girls to learn more about more about the changes in their body. I know this would be extra handy for those who parents have a hard time communicating with them.
