I love making new memories with my friends and family during the holidays! Every year we have old traditions like taking photos with Santa…check out this one from a few years ago..
We always make cookies together for santa and leave out bacon AKA reindeer food. It’s always fun to bring out the traditions and watch them never get old year after year. This year I am hoping to take my kids to see the Christmas lights at St. Anne’s, it’s something I loved growing up, but then they stopped for a few years. I was so sad my kids never had a chance to experience the fun. I am excited, though, because this year they are bringing back the event. So, a tradition I grew up loving can now be experienced by my kids.
For more than 60 years Hickory Farms gifts have been a classic holiday tradition that brings family and friends together. Many Americans have a distinct memory of Hickory Farms at their holiday gatherings; Hickory Farms is very proud to be a part of those nostalgic moments and continues to focus on and celebrate its long heritage of tradition and authentic holiday memories. Hickory Farms not only embraces passing down traditions through generations of families, but also creating new traditions and sharing them with loved ones.
I can remember enjoying Hickory Farms for years. In fact, I look forward to this time, every year, when the little stands go up in the mall. I know my favorite cheeses, meats, candies are here and Christmas time is near. We had our first box of Hickory Farms goodies last week, the Cheddar Flight With Salami.
The cheese and salami were absolute perfection! Included in the flight was:
- Apple Smoked Cheddar With Paprika
- Smoked Garlic Cheddar
- Classic Cheddar
- 3 Year Aged Cheddar
- Dry Aged Salami
I was very partial to the smoked garlic cheddar. With a slice of Salami it was great addition to our movie and game night. With over 700 Holiday Market Stores, in select retailers and of course HickoryFarms.com you can pick up you favorite gift set now or any time of the year. Hickory Farms also makes a great gift to give, I know it’s something I would love to receive.

We like to drive around and check out decorations and lights, especially in the high-end areas.
One of our memorable holiday traditions is visiting our local zoo for holiday lights every year. It is a fundraiser for them and fun for our family to walk around the zoo at night all bundled up seeing the lights and sipping hot chocolate.
We both live away from family, so we have abandoned old traditions and have yet to establish new ones. But, as a kid I had an aunt that sent us a Hickory Farms gift basket every Christmas.

Baking Christmas cookies.
One of my favorite memories was having thanksgiving overseas when my dad was in the Army. It was fun to go have lunch at the military cafeteria. They had the best Turkey and the best shrimp cocktails!
When we were little, my parents would put us to bed on Christmas Eve. Santa would come, put up the tree, leave the presents and ring his bells to wake us up. We would wake up during the night to open our presents (after Santa left), so that my grandparents could be there. On Christmas day, we went to my grandparents’ house.
Ever since I was a kid, the extended family has gotten together to exchange gifts. My favorite part was that there was never a meal… just loads and loads of appetizers!
When I was in high school, we would eat lasagna for Christmas dinner, then our whole family would go bowling.
We always go over my grandparents house for Christmas and over our house for thanksgiving we just have 6 people in our family but we always play games and have fun

We go pick out our wrapping paper the day after Christmas, and then we coordinate our tree ornaments with the wrapping paper!
I always enjoyed visiting the cousins.
Our most memorable holiday tradition is adopting a neighborhood family that is struggling right then. We pick up Christmas dinner fixins, presents for parents and kids, wrap and tag them, then put them in big bags and place them VERY EARLY on Christmas morning somewhere not visible from the street but easily visible by the family if they open their door or look out of one of their windows (I live in Ohio, so no worries about the food not staying cold enough). It’s always so great when my kids come back to me that week excited about the other family’s reaction and how much the kids loved the big surprise. And they’ve never once told who the “Secret Santa” was!
We make the same cookies every year, I now make the ones with my son my earliest memories of making with my mom.
My favorite one is my sis and I going to a holiday play each Christmas season.
Thank you.
One of my memorable holiday traditions is getting together with my family every year on the Saturday before Christmas. Getting together at this time allows us more time to enjoy a great meal, fellowship, and playing Dirty Santa. We always have a blast!

Baking cookies with my grandma
Oh how I miss holiday traditions. We used to have so many. I still miss the tradition of Santa. I miss being a kid.
We buy or make hot cocoa and then go look at Christmas lights every year. It was one of the first dates my husband and I went on.
one of our traditions if decorating the house together
For thanksgiving it’s writing what you’re thankful for on the “thanksgiving tablecloth.” Its sometimes funny to see what people wrote the year before and a great way to see what kids write as they grow up.
One of our traditions is to sprinkle “reindeer food” (oatmeal mixed with glitter) on the front lawn on Christmas Eve to make sure the reindeer have Santa stop by!
We enjoy going to get Pumpkin spiced lattes and then going to look at all the awesome Christmas light displays. Love it!
Our favorite tradition takes place tomorrow night – we’re visiting a neighboring town and attending their holiday open house. You go around to different businesses, eat their holiday treats and collect the recipe cards
