Thank you to Holiday Inn Resort for partnering with A Daily Dose of Toni to make this post possible. All thoughts and opinions are solely that of the Daily Dose family!
Two weeks ago, we had the incredible opportunity to head to Holiday Inn Resort at Ft. Walton Beach. While the weather didn’t play nice and we didn’t get to immerse ourselves into everything the resort offers, we did get to enjoy a “taste” of the resort, both literally and figuratively.
The moment you walk into the Holiday Inn Resort, you see the fun decor and beachy feel colors. You immediately feel like you are escaping to somewhere tropical, even before looking out the windows and seeing the beaches. After check-in, we headed up to our room to put our bags up before having some indoor pool time. Upon walking in we were greeted with a fun (and tasty) tray of treats!
Milk, cookies, sparkling water, and sparkling juice. What a welcome.
They put us in the family suite that has a king-sized bed and a separate nook that has bunk beds, a tv, and a Xbox 360. Our kids loved the bunk area and us parents loved that they could watch their show while we watched ours, no giving up the TV!
There is a divider wall, so parents have a little bit of privacy during their stay. Enjoy plenty of space on the king bed. There is even a two seater table, microwave, coffee maker, and mini-fridge so after you enjoy dinner at Riptides, you can save your leftovers for a snack! We were lucky enough to be on the beach view, so we had a balcony overlooking the pool and beach.
The Holiday Inn Resort boasts a lovely outdoor pool (so sad we didn’t get to enjoy it) and a hot tub so kids can play and parents relax. The pool has a heated lazy river so you can float the day away when the weather cooperates. Or you can stroll right to the beach and enjoy some fun in the sun and sand. Thankfully those rainy days are covered too!
The indoor pool allows kids to get their swim fix even if the weather isn’t ideal. Our children had a blast swimming in the indoor pool. They swam for hours and even took some video using the goPro. After all that swimming we were all starving so we got dried off and headed to the Riptides Restaurant. Riptides is one of our favorite places to eat as a family, we haven’t had a bad meal anytime we have visited this or the Pensacola Beach location. Both are located in Holiday Inn Resorts and offer the same menu. You can see a review of Riptides here, but here is a little peek at the dinner we enjoyed!
After dinner, we took the time to relax and enjoy our in-room treats and just spend time together as a family. Once we had a good nights sleep, we got up and headed down to breakfast at the restaurant. When they hit 80% capacity they have a buffet style breakfast, but they weren’t there this particular weekend so we ordered off the menu. Everything sounded great and when we got our food it was definitely up to our expectations.
Oh, one thing of importance for those looking to save a little money when eating out, the restaurant does let kids under 12 eat free with each paying adult! We are a family who loves to travel and to get to enjoy the Holiday Inn Resort at Ft. Walton Beach; it will become a new staycation location for us. It also gets us excited to check out some of the other Holiday Inn Resorts around the U.S. as time allows us to travel! The Holiday Inn Resort is perfect for family getaways or even a get away with friends, so the next time you are planning a getaway be sure to look into the Holiday Inn Resort at Ft. Walton Beach.
Have you ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Resort?
