Internet sensation Gummibär jumped out of the internet and onto video for everyone to enjoy at home.
If you don’t know who Gummibär, let me enlighten you. He is a little green gummy bear who my kids found hysterical when they came across him on YouTube. They would sit and watch him over and over dancing and singing….seriously. In fact, I fully admit to walking around singing “I’m a gummy bear. Oh, I’m a Yummy, Chummy, Funny, Lucky Gummy Bear.” Don’t judge…when you’re kids are repeat playing a song chances are you will be sining it eventually too.
Now, lucky for them, it’s not just the Gummy Bear Song on Youtube they can enjoy. With the new 50 minute movie “The Yummy Gummy Search For Santa” the family can sit and watch Gummibär anytime they like.
When Santa is reported missing on Christmas Eve, Gummibär and his band of wacky, misfit friends shake their booties from the North Pole to the tropics on a madcap search. But when they discover Santa was abducted by a dance-crazed alien, the fate of Christmas morning rests in the hands — and feet — of our lovable green gummy bear! Featuring the #1 hit “I Am A Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear Song)” two holiday-themed songs and other Gummibär hits, saving Christmas has never been this much fun!
I sat down to watch it with the kids and had no qualms about it. We love singing the songs so of course we knew there would be fun songs to sing along to. We were not disappointed with the songs and the kids loved the songs in the movie. Here is a short clip:
I did have a few issues with a couple of things in the movie. It doesn’t have a rating and does include a few questionable scenes where the reindeer are drinking beer, some not so nice jokes towards Santa are also used, and you get a glimpse of Santa’s crack when he bends over. If you have young or impressionable kids you may want to skip this movie. I do think those things could have been left out and was a bit disappointed in those scenes, especially when there will be many kids wanting to see this movie after having loved Gummibär online.
Included in the DVD are these special features:
- “Christmas Is Coming” music video
- “You Know It’s Christmas” music video
- “La La I Love You” music video
- “Go For The Goal” music video
- “Mr Mister Gummibär” music video
- “Bubble Up” music video
- *Subject to change
The songs were great, we laughed and overall (aside from the parts mentioned above) enjoyed the movie.
Don’t forget to keep up with all things Gummibär on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
