Recently, I had the chance to head down to the Orlando/Kissimmee area to surprise my kids with a trip to Disney and Universal theme parks. Unlike most families who stay at hotels while visiting the area we knew we wanted something a little more like home. Global Resort Homes had just what we were looking for, and instead of it being just my family we were able to make it a family reunion. We brought grandparents, aunts, uncle, and cousins. We got to stay at 2542 Archfeld Blvd. which is in the Windsor Hills area.
After picking up our key code from the main office (which I loved just having a code and not a key or card to have to keep track of) we headed over to the Windsor Hills community and the first thing I noticed was how secure it was. With guards on duty that you have to check in with before you can even get on the property and it being a gated community I felt like I was going in somewhere safe. You had to have a code to scan in to get on the property even after the first time, which I thought was great. As a parent, safety is a big thing for me. As we drove through the community I noticed the pristine condition it was kept in. Lawns were manicured and it was so clean.
There was a club house with a gym, a pool, internet cafe, game room, and even a movie room that can be reserved to have a movie night for up to 40 people. As we continued to find the home we would be staying in we noticed two parks. One that was gated (with a code to get in) and a smaller park. On our 6th day there we finally ventured to the big park and the kids LOVED IT. With a human sized chess board and so many playground toys we may have been able to never leave the property at all…if we didn’t already have other things planned of course. After driving just a little bit we finally arrived…
Absolutely beautiful! If the outside was like this I could not wait to see the inside. Disappointed, I was not. We had a 6 bedroom, 4 bath home to stay in for 9 nights! My breath was taken away the minute I walked in. The layout of the house was perfect. You walk into a sitting area and formal dining area and continue on to the living room, kitchen, and breakfast nook which lead out to the pool. Off the living room was a bedroom and a bathroom as well as the laundry room and garage…which was no longer a garage but a game room (my kids LOVED that room).
Going back to the front door you can head up the stairs to the owners suite (master bed, and bath) and the 4 other bedrooms. The owners suite was probably about the size of half of my house…HUGE! With a Pirate Mickey themed room and a princess themed rooms kids will be thrilled to have these fun rooms to sleep in. I know mine were! The little girl in me wanted to sleep in the princess room…until I felt the bed in the master suite, it was pure heaven!
This particular house can sleep A LOT of people. There were 2 King Beds, 2 Queen Beds, and 4 twin beds and could sleep 12 comfortably. I was amazed at how big it was, yet it wasn’t an overwhelming “I would never be able to keep up with this house” kind of big. In fact, I have told my husband I would not mind moving there at some point…or at least building a home here like it. I loved the little details the house boasted:
Then there was the pool and hot tub. This area was such a great area for just convening and spending time as a family having fun. The kids spent 90% of the time we were actually at the house in the pool. I spent most of my time in the hot tub that flows right into the pool. The atmosphere was so relaxing and I enjoyed having a screened in pool and porch area. As you can see, the kids did too:
As I said, this is one of the bigger homes Global Resort Homes offers, but they have everything from 2 bedroom condos to this 6 bedroom home. So no matter the size of your group you should be able to find something right for you on one of their propertieis. The best thing about this particular property is how close it was to the theme parks. We were literally about 10 minutes (with traffic and parking) from Disney parks and about 20 minutes to the Universal parks. We loved being able to wake up eat breakfast, make lunches to take, spend all day at the parks, and then come home and cook. We didn’t have to worry about finding a restaurant and were able to eat at home every evening. While the kids may still have been going full speed, us adults were ready to be pajama clad in the evenings. The last thing we wanted to do was go out anywhere to eat.
If you are considering traveling to the Orlando/Kissimmee area I would definitely look into staying with Global Resort Homes. With the smaller homes running about the same (and sometimes less with the great specials they are always having) than a hotel, you can have the comfort of home while vacationing. Trust me the money you can save from being able to eat at home, you can put away for your next vacation to the area. You don’t have to worry about loud people next door or above you. You can enjoy your vacation and go home with clean laundry! So, what are you waiting for go over and like Global Homes on facebook so you can jump on one of their specials.
**7 Nights of accommodations were provided and I received a media rate on the other two. No compensation was received. The honest opinions are my own.

This is nice. I would love to stay here.
I’m definitely going to check out Global Resort Homes when we go to Florida! Looks like you all had a blast!
Windsor Hills is fantastic. We’ve stayed at this resort twice, although we’ve booked through VRBO and not Global Resort Homes.
