Those are the ones I love the most right there! My husband and kids are my life. When it comes time to eat, my husband is pretty easy to please, almost anything goes with him. My kids, however are a different story. I have picky, picky eaters. My daughter is the most adventurous out of my three but her adventure in food pretty much stops when she doesn’t like the first taste. My boys, it’s like pulling teeth to even get them to try something new.
Dealing with picky eaters can make meal times not very fun. One thing I have noticed that helps us at lunchtime (or anytime really) is letting my kids get involved. When they have a hand in making it, they can feel proud of their “meal” and are more apt to eat it. At least that is how it works with my kids. It could be something as simple as my middle picking the Campbell’s® soup he wants with his grilled cheese, my daughter deciding what kind of bread she wants for her PB&J, or my oldest helping to prepare a can of his favorite Campbell’s Chunky Soup.
When kids have a hand in creating lunch at home or for school, they will feel like they have some independence. I’ve also noticed they will take more chances when they have a hand in the meal making. Foods that they would not have given a second thought to, suddenly become interesting and, dare I say it, tasty. So, why not get them involved in lunchtime more? It’s a great time to remind them that they are growing up, teach them things they will need to know for later in life, and a WONDERFUL bonding time. My kids and I, sometimes, have more fun making food together in the kitchen, the memories are some of my most treasured. Be sure to check out the Campbell’s website for some great discounts and recipes that will help spark some fun lunchtime moments with your kids.
