I shared with you my love for the new Cars Land and promised today I would share a bit about the rides you can find in this part of the park. There are three rides in Cars Land that can check out to fully immerse yourself in all things Cars and Radiator Springs. As if walking the little town isn’t enough to make you feel like you just stepped into the Pixar movie riding the rides helps you get up close and personal with the characters and the things they love.
First up we will talk about Luigi’s Flying Tires.
Float on a cushion of air aboard a larger-than-life tire, thanks to Luigi from the Disney·Pixar movie Cars. Slide, glide and laugh as you lift ever-so-slightly off the ground on a 9-foot-wide Fettuccini-brand tire. You’ll be blown away by Luigi’s Flying Tires! You’ll quickly get the hang of soaring around Luigi’s 8,000-square-foot Italian garden and tire storage yard. All you need to do is lean in the direction that you wish to move. 6,714 air vents blow over 1.86 million cubic feet of air per minute to keep your tire floating ever so slightly above the ground. Each tire can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child or 1 adult and 2 children.
In other words it’s like a giant human air hockey table with “flying tires” coming at you. I wish I would have had a chance to ride this ride but we were so busy I just didn’t get a chance, all the more reason for me to go back. Now onto the two rides I did have a chance to hop on…
Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, it was time to step into Mater’s place and have some fun on the tractors you see him tipping in the movies. No worries, we were not tipping tractors, we remained respectful, and really we didn’t want to have to deal with Frank. Check out some of the photos from Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree

Get ready to get your square dancing on for this ride. With a square dancing tune you hope into one of the baby tractors (which not one of them is alike just so you know) and get ready to go round and round. As the ride starts it’s almost like a big merry go round and then each individual tractor starts spinning followed with an almost jack knife motion. I will admit I was a little worried when watching it because I immediately thought of the spinning teacups and those don’t mix well with me. Thankfully this was nothing like that and it was such a fun ride for youngins and us older folks.
Last, but definitely not least, is Radiator Springs Racers. It is the big attraction in Cars Land and it is for a reason. Here is the description from the Disney site (because I can’t even begin to explain it properly):
Stroll through the original settlement of Radiator Springs. See how Stanley capitalized on a natural cold spring and built a series of ingenious attractions — like a “pull up and fill-up” coolant station, a building made entirely out of empty oil bottles and the Comfy Cavern Motor Court — that grew into the lovely town we know today. You board a 6-person car for a scenic road trip through Ornament Valley, including a drive by the valley’s famous plunging waterfall, Radiator Falls. Then, head towards the town of Radiator Springs and along the way you’ll encounter some familiar faces — including Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack, Ramone and Doc Hudson — who will welcome you to the big race and help you along the way. Well, they’ll mostly help you; Mater is known to recruit newcomers to participate in one of his favorite activities, tractor tipping. To get you ready for the race, you’ll fine-tune your car at either Luigi’s Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art. You’ll want to ride multiple times to see both! For the thrilling conclusion of the attraction, you’ll be pitted against another car filled with Guests for a friendly competition to see who can get to the checkered flag first. Zip over hills, zoom around high-banked turns, and cruise down camelback straightaways past spectacular red-rock formations. While there is only one winner, everyone is sure to have a great time. The towering Cadillac Range mountains serve as a majestic backdrop for Radiator Springs Racers. Car aficionados will notice that the 6 mountain peaks resemble the tail fins of classic Cadillac models from 1957 to 1962.

I wish I had video’d the adventure because this ride was AMAZING. After already having been so immersed in Cars Land it was hard to believe I could feel even more a part of the land from the movie. The rides did just that. I will give you a piece of advice for the Racers ride, get there early and get a fast pass. While we were there we saw an average wait time of about 4 hours. I am sure as the parks newness wears off and off season arrives it won’t be so bad but you definitely don’t want to try to tackle Radiator Springs Racers without a fast pass.
If you get a chance to head west and check out Disney California Adventures new Cars Land I say you definitely need to do it. It was really busy during this time of year, both Disneyland and California Adventure, so if you don’t want the crowds you might consider the off season. It’s such a fun place for families. I look forward to hearing your thoughts after you’ve had the chance to go. And I definitely look forward to the day I can take my kids!

Try 4 hours. I would definitely wait a few months until off season before going with kids who will want to ride the rides. That’s the wait time for the big ride which does have fast pass available, you just have to get there super early to get that.
This place sounds like so much fun. I am glad I live in California because I am definitely going to go here one of these days.
