You might think you’ve traveled back in time the minute you drive onto the Cabana Bay Beach Resort property! As soon as you drive up, you may want to bring out the groovy style from back in the day, thanks to the 60s and 70s nostalgic themed resort.
One of the first things, when traveling, I think about are the accomodations. I, for one, do not want to stay somewhere that is boring and claustrophobic feeling. Thankfully, Cabana Bay Beach Resort had me in mind when creating their new digs. With two different room options to choose from, you are pretty set to have plenty of room. They have a standard room, which sleeps up to four, I haven’t checked out this type of room yet, but I am sure they are amazing. The family suite is where I had the chance to stay and room enough for a family there was! With two queen beds in the “bedroom” area and full size pull out in the living room, this sleeps up to six.
The family suite offers a divider between the bedroom and living room. Also, in the family suite is a kitchenette with a sink, coffee maker, bar, microwave and mini-fridge. So, if you are looking to save a little money on eating out, bring bread, lunch meat, and enjoy dining in your retro room. Another important feature to this room is the bathroom area. What I love about this is you have the sink and a mirror, but then on each side there is a door. One door goes to the bathtub/shower area which includes another sink and mirror, while the other door goes to the “potty room”. So no having to wait to get ready while one person showers or wait to shower while someone is using the restroom!
The fun amenities offer enough to do, you may forget to even check out the theme parks. With two pools, one of which has an awesome water slide, and a stand alone lazy river, there is a pool everyone can enjoy. For little ones who may not want to be in the pool, there is a splash play area. If you need a break from floating the river, enjoy playing pool, checkers, have a hula hoop competition, play ping-pong, or take on one of the many other activities found outside at Cabana Bay. A “beach resort” wouldn’t be true to name without a “beach” which is why the sandy areas make me feel like I am right at home on my own beach.
If you need a break from the sun, Cabana Bay offers fun indoor activities as well. Take the kids to the arcade or enjoy a friendly game of bowling like our group did. I love Galaxy Bowl, it’s a fun way to spend time with friends. We had a blast bowling and while there we had an early dinner. The food was great!
If you are on an adults only trip, like we were, you might want to chill and have a drink…of adult nature. Thanks to several bars located both inside and near the pools, that’s entirely possible. It’s a great place to unwind from a long day or get the party started before heading to CityWalk. When it’s time to wind down, if you are on a family friendly trip, or just want to keep it low key, Cabana Bay offers movies on the lawn. Enjoy watching some great classics (likely ones you will find rides based on at the parks) out by the pool, under the stars, while all the neon lights of the resort are lit up around you!
Cabana Bay Beach Resort offers food, fun, shopping, and much more. At prices starting at $99 and ranging up to $174 per night (depending on time of year, room size, and days you stay), this resort is affordable. The fact they offer enough to keep you from even having to go theme parks at all is just a bonus. So, are you ready to get nostalgic and go back in time on your next Orlando vacation. If so, be sure to check out Cabana Bay Beach Resort, for a groovy good time!
