A Daily Dose of Inspiration: Faith!

Isn’t it funny how life can get so off track sometimes. You sit back and realize maybe you have lost some parts of yourself you really held dear and wonder how in the world you let that happen. It’s when you sit back and take a different perspective that you can see what you miss the most and what roots you want to get back to.

It’s no surprise that I want to get back to Florida this is home to me. So as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow can I say with certainty I will be back here. I lost faith in that for awhile, after all with the economy the way it is, it’s so easy to say oh there are no jobs, we won’t be able to get back there. That’s wrong thinking!

Faith, is the thing with which you hold to and KNOW (even if not how) that your desires will become reality. It’s not the impossibilities but it’s the possibilities! I was at church last night and it was an AMAZING service and I just kept feeling that phrase

“It’s not the impossibilities but it’s the possibilities”

I thought you know what, that’s so true, with God NOTHING is impossible. He is your avenger, provider, comforter. With Him there are no impossibilities. He EXCEEDS your expectations but for him to do that YOU have to have FAITH. Faith is a funny thing, I mean to some people it is crazy to believe for something that seems impossible. Hebrews 11: 1 is a verse I held close to my heart all through my life:

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Somehow over the last few years my faith seemed to escape me, whether it was finances, a troubled relationship, an attack, whatever, I was looking to my circumstances and not to God who is bigger than ANY circumstance I have. I did not have faith, I was thinking along the lines of “How can I fix this? What can I do in my power? I have to solve this situation”

Oh how wrong I was. Now while having Faith is key it’s not without a little elbow grease from yourself of course.

James 2:20 “But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?”

We have to put effort forth into whatever situation we are having faith God will take care of, provide for, etc. We can’t sit back on welfare and expect to have Faith that God will provide a job with no effort, however go out and put your application in to jobs even during these hard financial times we are going through and watch a door open where you didn’t think there could possibly be an opening.

That’s the greatness of God, he will take care of you, he will EXCEED your expectations, there are no impossibilities with him only possibilities. So whatever situation you are facing, whatever turmoil you are going through, whatever need you have, know that with God it’s not impossible that He WILL take care of you, all you have to do is put forth some effort and HAVE FAITH!

I know, I for one, need to get back to that child like faith. Where I may not know when or how but I know HE WILL. Just like a child who has a parent that loves them, takes care of them and doesn’t hurt them, they have faith in that. That’s the kind of Faith we all need to have in God, getting back to having a child like faith is definitely not easy with all the news, with the recession, with all the circumstances going on today but that’s the beauty of God (to me) NO circumstance, situation, or need is ever going to be too big for him, we just have to have FAITH!

Often times we lose sight of what Faith really means, believing without seeing. There is NOTHING impossible with GOD.

This is a very good post. And spot on. Most of us have been through times when we let our circumstances control the way we feel. Having faith and looking to God really can anchor us and our lives even when everything else isn't going the direction we would like it to. 🙂
